Adventure Awaits 5k

Lace up your running shoes to run or walk with Scouting America’s Great Falls Council!  The Adventure Awaits 5k is open to all ages, and beginners are welcome. As you walk or run, you will be able to take in the scenery and atmosphere at Riverfront Park. This is a great way for Scouts, avid runners, and families to get outdoors and support Scouting in their community. The race will be held at the Riverfront Park in Sayre Borough, Pennsylvania with a mix of trail and road experience. Restrooms are available, and there will be at least one water stop along the race from local Scouts. Pre-race packet pick up will be held on Friday, August 28th from 5:30 to 7:00 pm (Location TBD). Day-of packet pick up will take place from 7:00 am to 7:45 am. The 5k run/walk begins at 8:30 am. Early registration through RunSignup is encouraged for a reduced fee of $25. The rugged trail race you know and love is back for its 14th year in 2026! Participants can choose from a 5K, 10K or 50K option. All courses are technical trails through a beautiful old-growth forest with spectacular scenery.   The 5K will feature a course that is almost entirely on trail. The 10K course includes a flat, fast section to feature the beautiful Wetlands trail as you run past fields and streams. Don't worry, you'll still get your 3 steep climbs, technical descents and stunning sights.   For those who really want a challenge, register for the 50K. This gnarly and beautiful course will be 5 loops on the 10K course, totaling 7,000+ feet of elevation gain. Race for Remembrance - 9/11 Tribute Run - Shanksville PA to Washington DC

Join us for our 2nd Annual 9/11 Tribute Run! We will start our campaign at dawn, on the morning of 5 September. We will do a reading at Shanksville Flight 93 Memorial, honoring the 40 fallen, and we will begin our run to Washington, finishing at the Lincoln Memorial, 170 miles over a two-day period.  Day one has us running 13 legs covering 90 miles, as we run through the hills of PA and bed down for the night in Hagerstown MD.  Day two is 12 legs covering 80 miles. 29 of the miles has us safely on trails, as we push to Harpers Ferry eating up miles in VA finally arriving at the Lincoln Memorial in the evening on Sunday the 6th of September.  Individual registration covers the following: X2 nights (5/6 September) in a hotel (you will have a roommate). Single rooms can be accommodated at an additional cost   Van transportation departing Alexandria VA  and Virginia Beach VA on 4 September heading to Shanksville PA. Charles Bender Memorial Swim and Relay

Welcome to the 12th Annual Charles Bender Memorial Swim and Relay, presented by French Creek Racing! This swim was created based on an exploratory swim done by 4 men in September 2014: Jesse Kelly, Nabil Radouane, John Kenny, and Charles Bender.  Charles was the race director at our inaugural race, completed in 2015.  This swim is now dedicated to Charles Bender, who died tragically of heart failure in March 2017.  We are excited to have the Bender Family back for the 8th time to honor Charles' memory! Parking and directions: Use the GPS address - 1400 S. Trooper Rd., Norristown, PA 19403.  There is plenty of space available in this parking lot.  From the lot, walk south (away from the Schuylkill River Trail) down the asphalt path toward the river.  After you cross the road, make a left and walk downstream (east) for about 200 yards until you'll see our launch area on your right.  Swimmers and kayakers may drop off equipment at the launch area.  Please keep your loading time to

This swim was created based on an exploratory swim done by 4 men in September 2014: Jesse Kelly, Nabil Radouane, John Kenny, and Charles Bender.  Charles was the race director at our inaugural race, completed in 2015.  This swim is now dedicated to Charles Bender, who died tragically of heart failure in March 2017.  We are excited to have the Bender Family back for the 8th time to honor Charles' memory! Parking and directions: Use the GPS address - 1400 S. Trooper Rd., Norristown, PA 19403.  There is plenty of space available in this parking lot.  From the lot, walk south (away from the Schuylkill River Trail) down the asphalt path toward the river.  After you cross the road, make a left and walk downstream (east) for about 200 yards until you'll see our launch area on your right.  Swimmers and kayakers may drop off equipment at the launch area.  Please keep your loading time to

14th Annual Captain James R. Minicozzi Memorial Race

Our memorial race, in honor of Cpt. James R. Minicozzi, is held on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend, every year; during La Festa Italiana. Our event is held in Downtown Scranton, PA. Race for Remembrance - 9/11 Tribute Run - Shanksville PA to Washington DC

Shanksville, PA
Join us for our 2nd Annual 9/11 Tribute Run! We will start our campaign at dawn, on the morning of 5 September. We will do a reading at Shanksville Flight 93 Memorial, honoring the 40 fallen, and we will begin our run to Washington, finishing at the Lincoln Memorial, 170 miles over a two-day period.  Day one has us running 13 legs covering 90 miles, as we run through the hills of PA and bed down for the night in Hagerstown MD.  Day two is 12 legs covering 80 miles. 29 of the miles has us safely on trails, as we push to Harpers Ferry eating up miles in VA finally arriving at the Lincoln Memorial in the evening on Sunday the 6th of September.  Individual registration covers the following: X2 nights (5/6 September) in a hotel (you will have a roommate). Single rooms can be accommodated at an additional cost   Van transportation departing Alexandria VA  and Virginia Beach VA on 4 September heading to Shanksville PA. The Dandelion Trail Run is a friendly entry-level race offering both 5K and 10K options, held to benefit Camp Mount Luther.
