The Brookline Breeze is a challenging 5K fitness run/walk on the rolling hills of Brookline, a neighborhood located in the South Hills of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The 5K course takes runners and walkers from Brookline Memorial Park to the city border with Dormont and back again. The 3.1 mile route follows Brookline Boulevard to Pioneer Avenue, then turns left and proceeds to a turn-around near West Liberty Avenue, then back again. Breeze Day fun begins at 7:30am with packet pickup and pre-race registrations. The first event of the morning is the One-Mile Mini-Breeze for the young ones, followed by the One-mile Dog Walk. The Mini-Breeze course is laid out around the perimeter of Brookline Memorial Park. Then, at 9:00am, it's time for the main event, the 5K run/walk.

Come join us during our 2025 Slickville Community Days celebration! The August 9th 5k race is a challenging backcountry route with several hills leading to the "coal mine climb" up the slate mound past the famous Slickville sign that overlooks the town. The 2-mile walk is a much gentler course through town for the first half and returning to the finish on the Westmoreland Heritage Trail where you can watch the runners in their attempt to reach the summit of the race.  Be sure to sign up early to guarantee receipt of an event sports shirt in your preferred size. After completing the run/walk, all participants will be treated to a complimentary pancake breakfast with locally sourced genuine maple syrup courtesy of the Slickville Community Church and Maple Lodge. PLEASE BE AWARE -- Runners signing up between now and the race will not receive any promotional bags!  The 5K was a hit last year and we’re glad to bring it back to our annual Blueberry Festival in Montrose, PA! Come on out on Saturday, August 2nd for our Second Annual 5K and Fun Run. Work up an appetite on the race course, and then have some blueberry pancakes at our breakfast tent! This event will help raise funds to finance the Jacob Hershberger Memorial Scholarships that will be awarded each year to two Bedford High School Students and to help those in the community in financial need after the death of a young one. The race date is Sunday, August 10th.  Registration begins at 9:00 am and the Race will begin at 10:00 am. This will be a walking and running event.  Awards are given to the top 3 female and top 3 male runners in each age group and the top 3 male and top 3 female walkers overall for both courses. The 2025 Kinzua Bridge Challenge 10K, 5K,1 Mile, and 2 Mile Walk will be a staggered start beginning at 9:00 am on Sunday, August 11th. The races start at the Center Street Trailhead on the Mt Jewett to Kinzua Bridge Rails to Trails. The course is out and back for each race. The proceeds benefit the Swedish Festival Association who partner with the Mount Jewett Community to host one of the largest festival in the county.  The Mount Jewett Swedish Festival Association will allocate the proceeds of the race to benefit the Penn York Oil and Gas Scholarship held at the University of Pittsburgh the Bradford Campus. This scholarship supports students in the Energy Science majors. Proceeds exceeding the scholarship donation will be distributed for the purpose of promoting economic development, education, innovation and community revitalization in and around the Mount Jewett area. Join the Crawford County Drug & Alcohol Executive Commission Inc. (CCDAEC) in a fun 5k race and 1-mile walk. This race is designed to raise funds for the annual Recovery Celebration here in Meadville, PA in September, increasing drug overdose awareness (which Drug Overdose Awareness Day is August 31st), and recovery activities brought to you by our agency, the CCDAEC. The 2025 Kinzua Bridge Challenge 10K, 5K,1 Mile, and 2 Mile Walk will be a staggered start beginning at 9:00 am on Sunday, August 11th. The races start at the Center Street Trailhead on the Mt Jewett to Kinzua Bridge Rails to Trails. The course is out and back for each race. The proceeds benefit the Swedish Festival Association who partner with the Mount Jewett Community to host one of the largest festival in the county.  The Mount Jewett Swedish Festival Association will allocate the proceeds of the race to benefit the Penn York Oil and Gas Scholarship held at the University of Pittsburgh the Bradford Campus. This scholarship supports students in the Energy Science majors. Proceeds exceeding the scholarship donation will be distributed for the purpose of promoting economic development, education, innovation and community revitalization in and around the Mount Jewett area. This race is designed to raise funds for the annual Recovery Celebration here in Meadville, PA in September, increasing drug overdose awareness (which Drug Overdose Awareness Day is August 31st), and recovery activities brought to you by our agency, the CCDAEC. Join us for the 1st Annual “Love, Jill” Memorial Race, a 5K charity run and 1-mile walk through the streets of Beaver along the beautiful Ohio River on August 15, 2026. This event is held in loving memory of Jill Renee Littler, who passed away on September 22, 2025, after a courageous battle with oral cavity squamous cell carcinoma. Jill’s strength was forged long before her cancer diagnosis. At just 15 years old, she was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease, a fight she carried with her for 36 years. Through countless surgeries, hospital stays, treatments, and daily challenges, Jill faced her illness with quiet resilience, grit, and grace—never allowing it to define her or diminish the love she gave to others.
