The Essex Running Club will be providing buses to the start of the New York City Marathon again this year departing from Fleet Feet Montclair (603 Bloomfield Ave, Montclair) at 5:30 am. This is a one way trip only and will take runners directly to the starting area at Fort Wadsworth on Staten Island. Bagels, bananas and water will be provided on the buses and they will have a bathroom. We are not planning to have a bus back from the finish this year. Registration is only $25 for members of the Essex Running Club or $35 for non members. The $10 discount will be automatically taken at check out if you have a current membership in the club on Runsignup. The North Jersey Masters is offering bus transportation to and from the TCS NYC Marathon on Nov 1. There are 55 seats available on a first-come, first-served basis. Cost is $65.00 per person. The rate will increase to $75.00 on 9/15/2026. There is no discount for a one-way trip. REGISTRATION FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE * AND SEAT TRANSFERS ARE NOT PERMITTED. The Jersey Shore Running Club is offering bus transportation to our volunteers for the New York City Marathon. Once our volunteers have registered, we will open any remaining seats for spectators. Our bus leaves the Commuter Parking Lot at exit 109 in Red Bank at 5:45am sharp and will leave NYC around 1:30pm. Once we know where the bus will be parked, we will let everyone know where to meet it. If you will not return on the bus, please let us know!

The O'Brien’s (Brian - Dad, Jean - Mom, Nolan – age 11, and Harry – age 8) are Cherry Hill residents and have established deep roots within the local community. They love their family time together, including anything related to soccer and traveling to various destinations, cherishing every memory they make along the way. In April of 2023, Jean and Brian noticed their son Nolan was experiencing ongoing GI issues, which were originally diagnosed as Celiac. When the symptoms did not subside, they sought further testing at CHOP to determine a more accurate diagnosis, and in late May 2023 received information that no parent is prepared to receive…Nolan had a tumor at the base of his brain known as ependymoma. Doctors were able to operate immediately and remove the tumor, with multiple rounds of radiation to follow. Due to the location of the tumor, Nolan’s speech, vision, and balance were affected. Still, with time and physical/occupational therapy, he was able to improve. For the foreseeable future, Nolan would receive routine scans and testing to monitor his condition. In October of 2025, after 2.5 years of clean scans, Nolan started experiencing new symptoms. Following testing, results showed that a brain tumor had returned to a different location, as well as tumors around the spine. When ependymoma returns and shows presence in the spine it becomes difficult to treat, but Nolan is a fighter. He has had surgery to remove as much of the tumor as possible, received chemo treatments, and is participating in a clinical trial with various medications used to attack cancer cells. Nolan is taking everything in stride and continues to impress all of those around him with his courage and strength. Nolan is currently ready to begin middle school as a 6th grader. He loves playing sports, including soccer, flag football, and kickball - just to name a few – in addition to playing Dungeons and Dragons and Roblox with his friends. Nolan is very outgoing, strong, and certainly resilient. Whatever Nolan is doing, he is thoughtful in his approach and always brings great energy and enthusiasm. Please help us support Nolan and the O’Brien family so they can focus on getting Nolan back to his energic, life-loving self. With your help, we hope to soften the financial burden for their family and bring some much needed love and light into their lives during this very difficult time.

The Almost Winter Classic was created in 2020 because so many athletes had a limited opportunity to access indoor sports during the COVID-19 pandemic. When XC ended, there was no place for many athletes to turn for winter sports. In response, the SJS XC Community created a 5K club for its athletes and parents who wanted to participate. Since 5K race options were limited, we decided to create an event that would give runners the opportunity to compete in a friendly way and help to build our running community. Move for Marybeth was created to raise awareness of ARDS by celebrating the life of Marybeth Monaghen and all those impacted by ARDS. Marybeth lost her battle with ARDS at the age of 36, August 8th 1998. Each August 8th we ride/walk/swim/run on World ARDS Awareness Day to remember and honor the 200,000 Americans who develop ARDS every year, 40% of whom will lose their lives to it. The funds raised at this event will help us support the ARDS Community and raise awareness for ARDS. What is the Homebound Hustle? On Sunday, November 8, 2026, Family Promise of Morris County will host the 6th Annual Steve Hammond Homebound Hustle 5K & 1-Mile Walk at Central Park of Morris County. Join us on a scenic cross-country course as we come together to support families and individuals facing homelessness and housing instability in Morris County. Whether you walk, run, or cheer from the sidelines, your participation helps further our mission to end homelessness and increase housing stability in our community. What's included? Race Information The 5K will take place at the Drum Point Sports Complex. Registration / Bib-Pickup will begin at 9:00 AM across the street at the Brick PAL (60 Drum Point Road). Following the race, participants are welcome to return to the PAL for food/drinks.If you're not participating in the race, you are welcome to attend the event and watch the race from several locations. Parking / Safety Information Parking will be at two location. The left parking area of the Brick PAL and Emma Havens Young School. Police Officers will be on scene assisting with traffic and crossing the participants. Signage and volunteers will be on location directing people where to park. If you require special assistance parking, please park in the PAL lot as their will be designated spots for those requiring assistance. If you need to leave belongings in the PAL prior to the race, please see volunteers at registration.

The 5K race will begin in the MetLife Sports Complex, continue around the Quest Diagnostics Training Center, and finish in the Giants end zone inside of MetLife Stadium. Participants will enjoy running alongside select Giants Legends, team representatives and fellow Giants Fans, all while supporting The Giants Foundation. All participants will receive a commemorative Giants 5K performance t-shirt and age group winners will receive custom Giants game balls.

The race will be dedicated to the Men and Women of Belleville that served in the US Military. Proceeds will financially support our Belleville Veterans' Organizations and help offset costs associated with honoring our veterans. There is age-based pricing for those up to 18 years old (automatically save $5 applied at checkout). Any active/retired military can save $10 (enter coupon code "MIL" at checkout) and our First Responders can save $5 (enter coupon code "FIRST" at checkout). Race shirts only guaranteed for registrations completed prior to October 18th. On-site registration begins at 7:30 AM on Race Day! This is a disposable chip timed 5k Run. This course is certified.
