Blue Cross Winter Warm Up 5K Walk/Run

MSU Tower Guard Shamrock 5k run, walk, roll!

The Tower Guard class of 2000 founded the Shamrock 5k Run – Walk – Roll as an annual event to raise funds for the Resource Center for Persons with Disabilities serving spartans students! This year we carry on the tradition and are hosting the 26th Annual Shamrock 5k on March 22, 2026 at 10:00 am on the Michigan State University campus in East Lansing, Michigan. All donations raised by Tower Guard 2025-2026 will go to RCPD towards students’ disability related needs.   Tower Guard  collaborates with the RCPD to help scribe for exams, create more accessible textbooks, hold one-on-one tutoring, and build a more inclusive environment for all Spartans. Well over 85% of the reading for the visually impaired is done by Tower Guard, thus maintaining MSU's outstanding service to students with disabilities. White Pine Thaw Marathon Relay

The White Pine Thaw Marathon Relay will be Sunday, March 22nd, starting in Comstock Park, Michigan, on the southern most section of the Fred Meijer White Pine Trail. It's held annually on the second Sunday of March. Competitors form teams of runners and on race day, will each take a leg of the relay, covering 13.1 miles, north to Russel Road, where the course returns back south to Comstock Park. There are easily accessed parking lots and bathrooms, roughly every four miles. The trail is routinely plowed by Friends of The White Pine Trail and covers very few low traffic crossroads.

Meals On Wheels Western Michigan March for Meals

Meals on Wheels Western Michigan's 5th Annual March for Meals Community Walk & 5k is a family-friendly event for people of all ages and abilities to come together and support the health and independence of older adults in Western Michigan. The walk is a 2-mile loop and the 5K run is on that same loop, just extending a bit farther into the park. New this year: the price of the walk is the same as the run, and includes a shirt and race medal. Every competitor must finish 16 ounces of chocolate milk before each quarter mile for a total of 1/2 gallon of chocolate milk and 1 mile of running. We are also offering a virtual event for those that are unable to participate in-person.   Suicide is the SECOND leading cause of death for ages 10-24. More teenagers and young adults die from suicide than from cancer, heart disease, AIDS, birth defects, stroke, pneumonia, influenza, and chronic lung disease, COMBINED. On Dec 26, 2018 this unfortunate statistic affected Adam Holten, his family, extended family, friends and the community. We lost a very good person to suicide. Adam affected many people’s lives with his presence, his smile, his laughter, his handshakes and his ability to reach out and lift other people up.   Since his passing we have created a non profit organization: Strides for Adam. Sarett Spring Stampede Race Information The Spring Stampede will offer an in-person "LIVE" race option for 2026 The funds raised from this event will help Sarett Nature Center continue to provide environmental education programs for over 25,000 school children each year. Kal-Haven Trail Run

April 11th   About This Event:The Kal-Haven Trail Run is the Southwest Michigan Hometown Ultra, a great first ultra for anyone looking to expand their running beyond 26.2 miles, and a great hometown ultra to keep challenging yourself to a new PR every year. If an ultra is not for you, this run allows participants from all fitness levels to be involved as a 2-person relay team (duo), or 3-6 person relay team. Shake off those winter cobwebs and run the relay with your best run friends!!   The KAR Kal-Haven Ultra Run will be held on the Kal-Haven Trail State Park, offering a scenic, gently downhill run from “the Caboose” in Kalamazoo to South Haven (almost to the beach, but not quite).  There are ten aid stations that will energize runners with food, hydration, and awesome encouragement. These stations also provide runners with relay switch points while also supporting an opportunity for “fans” to support their runners. Wolverines Walk for Reproductive Justice 5k is a fun run/walk hosted by the student organization Lunar Doula Support Network at the University of Michigan. This event is in collaboration with a local organization, Birth Detroit, that works towards reproductive justice. Birth Detroit is a community birth center that works towards safe, equitable, and culturally relevant healthcare for all.
