Run Friends Run 5k is a race through the beautiful 54-acre campus of Friends Meeting School (FMS) and the surrounding neighborhood. The chip-timed 5k is part cross-country (on campus) and part road race. The pet-friendly, 1-mile, untimed, fun run takes place on campus. Coordinated by FMS parent volunteers, this event celebrates the benefits of physical exercise and community, and it raises money to support the school’s academic programs and staff.

This is a chip timing practice race. FSRC Race Services uses these low key events to test new and updated timing software and give team members a chance to learn and practice in a non-critical environment. YOU can help by joining us. Cranksgiving is an annual charity cycling event held in Downtown Columbia, MD, that combines cycling with community service. Hosted by the Downtown Columbia Partnership and the Howard County Office of Transportation, Cranksgiving offers residents a chance to engage in active recreation while raising awareness about Howard County’s bikeable pathways and collecting food donations for individuals and families in need. Participants ride into Downtown Columbia with food donations for Grassroots Crisis Intervention. Cyclists of all skill levels are welcome, making it a family-friendly event that fosters camaraderie among the local cycling community while supporting those in need. The county’s Office of Transportation has mapped out biking routes to the drop-off location from all Columbia Villages and other points across the county. Where: The Plaza at The Mall in Columbia Competition: Columbia Villages, along with any other interested communities, are invited to compete to see who can donate the most. Each village will have a designated table, staffed by a volunteer provided by the Downtown Columbia Partnership, where residents can drop off their contributions. Join us for St. Augustine Catholic School’s 5th Annual Angels on the Run 5K! Run, walk or stroll! Angels on the Run 5K will take runners through the beautiful neighborhood of Lyndwood. US Road Running Races US Road Running races are built for runners and walkers who like friendly, low-pressure race days with just enough competition to keep things exciting. Our events are local, welcoming, and easy to jump into, whether you are chasing a PR, collecting another themed medal, working toward series points, or just getting outside with good people. Most races are small enough to feel personal but organized enough to feel official. You can expect a clear course, helpful race staff, finisher medals, results, and a relaxed community feel. Bring your fast shoes, your steady walking pace, your favorite running buddy, or your best “I signed up for this on purpose” smile. We will be glad to see you at the start line. A quick race-day note: because many US Road Running events are small local races, we normally have one or two staff members at each race. EMS is not stationed on site, and water stations are limited to the finish area at the end of each lap and at the race finish. But they need our help to continue to foster excellence in performing arts and to teach lessons our girls will carry with them forever. This is part of the Harford County Running Club's Summer Run Series Please note the 7:30 am start time. Come out for a brand new HCRC challenge cooked up by Rob Bartholomew. There will be three options. Just a 5k, Challenge A, and Challenge B. Challenge A will be five 5ks with each loop starting every 45 minutes. Challenge B will be four 5k with each loop starting every 60 minutes. The course is a beautiful out and back track on the Mason-Dixon Trail along the Susquehanna with two stream crossings, however, your feet should not get wet. The City of Gaithersburg, in partnership with the Montgomery County Road Runners Club, invites all runners and walkers to participate in a 5K Run/Walk in the magical setting of Gaithersburg’s Winter Lights Festival at Seneca Creek State Park. Winter Lights features more than 380 illuminated vignettes and 65 animated displays. Runners and walkers will utilize the roads through the Park during the race. Roads will be closed to traffic except for Emergency Vehicles and vehicles required for race management. Race registration includes entry to the Park and parking is on-site and free of charge. Due to the time of year, this event can experience inclement weather. It is also a sellout race and typicall sells out in a few days. Great Falls Half, 10K & 5K Saturday, November 21, 2026 · Great Falls Tavern, Potomac, MD Run the C&O Canal towpath along the Potomac, starting and finishing beside Lock 20 at Great Falls Tavern. All three distances head south along the canal past Widewater, Old Angler's Inn and Carderock, then turn for home. The towpath is flat, shaded crushed stone that was built for mules and is perfect for a fast fall race. Late November is the towpath's best season: the crowds are gone, the air is cool, and with the leaves down you get long views of the river. Every runner is tracked live on Geo.Racing, so your people can follow you down the towpath and be at the line when you finish. Collect your medal, then walk the boardwalk to the Great Falls Overlook and watch the Potomac pour into Mather Gorge. Start times: Half marathon at 12:00 PM, 10K at 12:30 PM, 5K at 1:00 PM. Finish line closes at 3:00 PM. Every entry includes: a race shirt, a finisher medal, chip timing and results, aid stations on the towpath, and live GPS tracking. Awards go to the top three men and women at each distance. Good to know: the field is capped under our National Park Service permit, so register early. The park charges $20 per vehicle (card only) at the Great Falls Tavern gate, and parking is limited, so carpool if you can. MedStar Health's 22nd Annual CHS XC Turkey Trot is a time honored Catonsville tradition. A fun celebration of health, wellness, and family with a rich sense of community, our cross country style 1 mile family fun run (8:10am) and 5k (8:30am) offers something for everyone.  Both races are chip timed. A prediction run is entirely different from other races that you’ve run in the past. Rather than finishing first or running the fastest, the object of a prediction run is to finish as close to a certain time as possible. In the case of the Howard County Striders prediction runs, the goal is to finish as close to 11:00am as possible. One way the Striders prediction runs differ from many other runs is that you get to start whenever you want – whoever finishes closest to 11:00am wins. Oh, and one important thing, you CANNOT use any sort of timing device. Also, no baby strollers, iPods, headphones or animals.
