Dive in to this incredible Open Water Swim Race on Big Bear Lake! Join us as we bring a new discipline of endurance sports to Big Bear Lake. Swim the Bear is part of Big Bear’s Paddlefest. This year featuring both 1.2 and 2.4 mile races held back to back. 2026 Cal Tri La Crema - 6.28.26. Located in Sonoma County, the La Crema Cal Tri Sonoma triathlon starts at iconic Johnson's Beach with a Russian River swim, a scenic bike ride along River Road towards the ultimate destination, La Crema Estate at Saralee’s Vineyard, where athletes run through the vineyards chasing that elusive finish line. Swim 1.5 miles from Scripps Pier to La Jolla Cove. This is an organized and timed event with awards to the top finishers.  It is an open water event and the conditions and temperature add to the challenge.  San Diego Lifeguards will oversee the safety of all participants.  At the finish, you will be greeted by LJCSC volunteers, breakfast provided by Duke's of La Jolla, awards for regulation top finishers, awards for regulation age group winners, and participant swag.  EVENT INFORMATION Registration 7:30-8:30 AM at La Jolla Shores NOTE: Registration Location: La Jolla Shores Beach, Kellogg Park, North End(North side of parking lot; near north end bathrooms; setup on grass). The Annual Laguna Niguel Family YMCA Run in the Parks is back in person! We are excited to celebrate the 47th year of bringing this annual community and family tradition to celebrate Independence Day. This year we are offering two options, a 5k and a Kids Run. Every race entry fee directly benefits the YMCA scholarship fund. This fund supports those most in need in our community. Over the last few years, we have all struggled with the impacts of the pandemic, some more than others. We are proud to stay that through it all we remained open (when we could) and provided scholarships to those most in need because of funds raised from events like this one. The Freedom Run is a premiere event at Morgan Hill’s annual Freedom Fest, one of the few all-day Independence Day celebrations in the Bay Area. Race Registration:  All registration will be handled online for the race.  Please note the last day to register will be Friday, July 3rd by 12:00 p.m.  No registrations will be accepted on the day of the race or in person at the Woodbridge Community Center.  Calling all runners! The Surf City Run 5K in Huntington Beach takes place along the historic route of Main Street and Pacific Coast Highway.  Come out and enjoy an 'All-American' start to this terrific Holiday by running along our parade route and seeing the famous pier and beautiful Pacific Ocean before a gentle sloping return to Worthy Park for the finish.

One mile route down historic Chester Main Street! The Almanor Recreation and Park District’s 45th annual Chester 4th of July Fun Run will take place at 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 4, 2026. The one mile run/walk will start on the Collins Pine lawn located at 500 Main Street and proceed down Chester’s historic Main Street to the finish at the Bidwell House located at 1 Main Street. Participants will receive a commemorative T-shirt (first 400 registrants) and enjoy refreshments at the finish line. After the event, there will be a 4th of July Craft Fair at Chester Park from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and a 4th of July Parade starting at 11 a.m. on Main Street. The Craft Fair is sponsored by the Chester Elks and the Parade is sponsored by the Lake Almanor Area Chamber of Commerce. REGISTRATION is OPEN!!! July 4, 2026 is the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. To celebrate, the City of Palmdale and the High Desert Runners are hosting a 5k and a kid's K race at Sam Yellen Park.  The cost of the 5k is only $25.00  and the Kid's K and 1/2 K races are only $15 !! The 49th annual Fourth of July Run/Walk that starts and finishes at Palisades Park, runs through city streets and Will Rogers State Parkincluding a health expo on the morning of July 4th.

Coronado’s Liberty Celebration Swim (formerly 4th of July Rough Water Swim) has been an iconic way to celebrate our Nation’s Independence. The swim takes place in beautiful Glorietta Bay Park (Open Water) . The event has a distance for every swimmer and experience level. The venue has iconic back drops of the famous Coronado Bridge. The course is nested in the southwest corner Glorietta Bay Park, with low wave/wake and current impacts, making this race experience fun and competitive for all athletic levels and is a perfect race for swimmers new to the open water scene.  All participants receive a finisher medal, souvenir swim cap and race t-shirt!

Each Christmas Day for the last 31 years, Temecula area Rotary Clubs have come together with a mission to provide free hot Christmas meals for those who may be alone or unable to prepare a Christmas dinner. In 2025, The Community Christmas Dinner fed approximately 1,500 retirees, families, and anyone who needed to share in a fresh, hot Christmas dinner. But it's more than just a meal. Many come to also share in the camaraderie that may otherwise be absent on Christmas Day. Dinners are freshly prepared and include all the trimmings, sliced turkey, ham, potatoes with gravy, vegatables, roll and a slice of pie. Community volunteers also sign up to deliver hot meals to senior residence complexes and Oak Grove School. There were just over 300 hot meals sent out for delivery last year! The deliveries are done 10-12 at a time to assure the dinners get there hot/warm. On site dinners are prepared and served by volunteer servers at the MSJC Temecula campus in the school cafeteria. Join us for the 2nd Annual Riverpark 5k Summer Series!  This is a run/walk event, with the course being located on a bike path and sidewalk.  5k event starts at 6:00pm each week, and Free Kids 1k is at 5:45pm.  The starting and ending point is located at Windrow Park.  Each race is limited to first 150 registrants! T-Shirts will be for sale at the event, or online for $20 or FREE T-shirt by registering for at least 2 of the 3 races.  As this is a series, awards will be given to the top 3 in each age category at the conclusion of Week 3 (7/24) at Window Park.
