Cincinnati is proud to be one of the select few cities to host the 2026 National Opal’s Walk for Freedom, a Juneteenth observance honoring the end of slavery in the United States and the ongoing pursuit of inclusive freedom. Opal’s Walk for Freedom, organized by the Texas-based non-profit Unity Unlimited, Inc., is led by Dr. Opal Lee, widely known as the “Grandmother of Juneteenth.” On June 19, participants in host cities across the country will walk 2.5 miles simultaneously, symbolizing the approximately 2.5 years between the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation in 1863 and the day enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, learned they were free in 1865. We are bringing back the Black Swamp Dash! This race is a 5k mud run, featuring 20+ obstacles for you to conquer! Many of the obstacles include a "challenge" side, as well as an "Xtreme" side, making our course fun for anyone! Even if you believe you fall under the "couch potato" status, our course will help you prove to yourself that you have what it takes to tackle obstacles you thought you couldn't! Hosted by The Dean Martin Association, Steubenville Parks and Recreation, the Jefferson County General Health District and supported by The Friends of Beatty Park, this race will be run on two nature trails - the Purple and Red trails at Historic Beatty Park. It will include dirt trails in wooded areas with small bridges, a creek crossing, as well as a few small natural obstacles. The race will include up hill areas and a short loop in the adjacent historical Union Cemetery.  Race day registration starts at 7:30 am. The first race in the 2026 Moon City Challenge, this new Moonlight Glow 5K run is an evening race at Veteran's Park in Wapakoneta. Starting at 9:15 p.m., runners will run by moonlight to earn their special Glow In The Dark medal, and check off the first run in this year's edition of the Moon City Challenge. Featuring glow-in-the dark t-shirts as swag, runners are encouraged to add glow-in-the-dark necklaces, bracelets, shoelaces -- even deely-boppers to help light their way from the starting gate to the finish line!

The Run for Chief Race is back, honoring the life and legacy of Jaden 'Jay Chief' Woodard! This race embodies the LIVE LIKE CHIEF mantra—celebrating kindness, love, and a little friendly competition. Come on out and run (or walk) a unique 10K race at the 1,000 acre Howard Marsh Metropark and then enjoy some post-race kayaking or canoeing. The 10K course on the gravel trails on top the marsh dikes is flat, fast, and scenic. The marsh is also home to unique plants, many types of birds, and lots of other wildlife. After the race, you can launch your kayak, canoe, or paddle board and explore the marsh's eight miles of aquatic trails for a complete "marshy" experience. Rental kayaks will be available from the Metroparks. Also whether you're a birder or not, don't forget your binoculars.   Awards in the 10K will be given to the Male and Female Overall, Masters, Grand Masters, and Senior Grand Masters winners and will consist of a unique marsh-themed sun catcher and gift card from Second Sole running store. TRIATHLON, DUATHLON & SUPER-SPRINT RELAY The Nona France Quarry at Blue Creek Metropark is home to Whitehouse Ohio's premier sporting event. Choose from a sprint distance triathlon, duathlon, or the exciting triathlon super sprint relay.  Swim, bike and run in this beautiful setting in Whitehouse, OH. The biking will take place on the roads to/from the park and the run will take advantage of the trails through this natural setting inside the park area. You will not want to miss this event.   The only Triathlon Relay held in Northwest Ohio is modeled after the Relay Triathlon held in the 2021 Summer Olympic Games.  Each member of the 3 person team will complete all three legs of the super sprint triathlon.  The relay will take place after the individual events are complete, allowing you to compete in both. This is a USAT Sanctioned event and age group standings will still be applied and submitted.

Dirt Days Trail Series - French Park Creek Crossings Sunday, June 21, 2026 9:00 am French Park, Cincinnati, OH   French Park originally started out in its entirety as a farm, is now one of the city's most picturesque parks. The 3.6 mile course will take runners through almost everything that the park has to offer. Starting at the top of the hill, runners will descend down into the meadow, through the tall grass, and then run the perimeter before heading into the interior of the park. The course will follow the creek and cross it several times, giving runners the option to either tiptoe over stepping stones, use log bridges, or dash directly through it. The course will then gradually rise back to the shelter and meadow where it began. Night Glow traces its roots back to the Jackson Township 5K  transitioning into the Jackson Night Glow in 1999 as part of the Jackson Star Spangled Celebration. From its humble beginnings, the race quickly grew into the beloved evening tradition it is today, continuing to foster a strong sense of community within Jackson Township and beyond. The Jackson Night Glow is an all-inclusive 5k evening event designed for individuals of all ages. Participants will experience a vibrant night race illuminated by a captivating array of glowing elements. In 2026, the Parma Run-Walk for Pierogies will turn FIFTEEN years old!  Once again, many charities and community projects will be recipients of the proceeds. Mini Triathlon in historic Chillicothe, Ohio’s downtown Yoctangee Park, 50 meter City Pool and along the bike path for a beautiful, short triathlon! 300 Meter Swim 6.2 Mile Bike 1.61 Mile Run Transition area will be in the parking lot of the pool. Participants will begin the swim at 8am the proceed to transition. Then ride West on Back Road and at the top of the hill bear right to enter the bike path, continue westward. Turn left onto Larrick Lane, following signs to continue to the bike path. However, you will turn around where the bike path resumes to the right on Larrick Lane and come back to the transition area. You will then run westward on Back Road as you did for the bike, but go east (right) on the bike path until you reach the wooden staircase on the right going down to the Pump House Museum parking lot. Turn around at the stairs and go back the way you came to finish as you re-enter the pool parking lot.  No chip timing. Only overall time, we ask that you wear a fitness track
