The 5k and Family Fun Fest @ Twin Lake, Palatine raises money for Hopeful Beginnings perinatal mental health and adoption services.

The DRC Shoreline Classic is the premier Road Race in downstate Illinois. This event draws runners and spectators from across the state of Illinois. The race provides both a competitive and recreational event for athletes while promoting the value of living a healthy lifestyle. Both the USATF Certified 5K and 15K races are run along the shores of beautiful Lake Decatur in a colorful fall setting. The 5K race offers runners a fast course, while the 15K features a rolling terrain. The tot trots are a great way to involve our young runners while promoting Shoreline as a family event.

5K Your Way is a 3.1 mile race.The participant has an option of either running/walking the asphalt trail system or the dirt trail system. All participants will start at a common point and split off onto their chosen course then merge together again at the finish. On the asphalt course there is approximately 200 yards of gravel (part of it uphill) which could be difficult with strollers.  We are dog lovers, but please be respectful to participants that may not feel the same by leaving your pet friends at home during the race. The dirt trail conditions can be affected by weather. In the case that the dirt trails cannot be used all participants will use the asphalt trails.All proceeds for the race will go to the NOW [Nutrition on Weekends] program (all 4 Crawford County Programs). This program provides meals to at risk children when the school system is not available such as weekends and during the summer. Site M: Redacted is the Springfield area's first foray into a proper gravel race. Hosted at the Jim Edgar Panther Creek state conservation area, we have a beautiful route for you spanning rolling meadows, farmland, and forest preserves. The route is still being finalized, but expect approximately 55 miles of something near a 50/50 pavement/gravel mix and around 2200 feet of elevation. The longest climbs will be on pavement, with 1/2-3/4 mile stretches of 4-6% average gradient. On the gravel side, there are a number of short, steep, punchy climbs. Most of these are under 1/4 mile, but many hit double digit grades and some even approach 20%. You can expect to see the entire range of not-so-paved roads with everything from fast white limestone to deep chunky gravel to grass trails and B roads.  We will be providing SAG support, refreshments at the staging area, an aid station at mile 30 with the option for drop-bags, and a post-ride meal to participants who register by September 30. Take in the spectacular scenery at the Autumn Leaf Run. It's open to all ages and all skill levels of runners, walkers and nature enthusiasts. The 5k trail loops through diverse terrain including wide tree-lined trails, moderate hills, prairie areas, bridge crossings and several single track trail sections. The start and finish lines will be in close proximity and the race will be timed using a chip timing system. All proceeds go to the Freeport Parks Foundation to help fund upcoming projects at Oakdale Nature Preserve Park.

The Cheesy Pretzel 5k is back for 2026! The Cheesy Pretzel 5k & 1 Mile Walk is a USATF certified 5k event [IL23028NM] that winds through The Promenade Bolingbrook and surrounding neighborhoods.  All participants in the 5k and 1 mile walk will receive an order of Pretzel Bites and Cheese!  The first 550 registered participants will receive a moisture wicking long sleeve shirt & Cheesy Pretzel Finisher Medal!  Shirt size preferences will be first come, first serve; corresponding to each participants race registration date. Sarcoma Stomp is being held in honor of Bo Arvin.  The mission is to carry on the characteristics which made him loved by so many.  We intend to preserve his memory of kindness, loyalty, humor, respect, faith and courage by bringing awareness to pediatric cancer as well as the underfunded research for treatment and a cure. The Bo Arvin Memorial Foundation will use 50% of our fundraising efforts to benefit the Children's Cancer Therapy Developmental Institute (CCTDI).  It also supports 2 scholarships at Christ Our Rock Lutheran High School.

Family Health Partnership Clinic is proud to present the 26th Annual Care4 Breast Cancer 5K Run/Walk on Sunday, October 18th at Woodstock North High School! A 501(C)3 Veteran ran Non-Profit Organization that provides an environment for our nations heroes to not only train their Service Dogs, but also provides a safe environment with a family like atmosphere. Down the Leash Service Dogs teaches basic and advanced dog handling skills where the Veteran works alongside their service partner, building a bond as they go.  When is the Race? Wow! Year 9 of supporting and honoring Jaimie Cox! Come join us in Roscoe, IL for an active day, Jaimie's way!  WE ARE THE ROSCOE AREA'S LARGEST 5K CHARITY EVENT! Our nature based 5K Run/Walk or 2 mile walk will begin at Roscoe Middle School (RMS). The route proceeds west to the historic Stone Bridge Trail before turning south as you continue to pound the crushed limestone path. You will reach the halfway point, turn around and return to RMS.  *Please note that our course features a variety of running surfaces, including gravel.

We are on CARA's 2026 Runner's Choice Race Circuit Again! Lake Bluff PTO Pumpkin Chase 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run is on Saturday October 24, 2026. The 5K starts @ 8AM and the Fun Run starts @ 9:15AM. Our 5K course is a certified course (USATF- IL-14092-JW) that travels along the beautiful tree lined streets of east Lake Bluff down to the bluff overlooking the shores of Lake Michigan. Can I Run with My Pet?  Absolutely!  We are running to support pets, pet lovers, and animal charities!  So you can run or walk with or without your pet! Hosted by Marshall Rotary Club, the Jack-O-Jog is our second annual fun run event packed with fun, fitness, and Halloween safety for kids and families! Free Kids Dash A 2 block dash for K-6th grades dressed in Halloween best, registration required 1-Mile Loop Perfect for walkers of all ages 5K Fun Run For those ready to jog off their Halloween candy stash! Runners will enjoy the same 1 mile loop, just three times through Costumes are encouraged—tennis shoes required!    Kids can enjoy a festive dash and will receive a goodie bag at the finish that will include a wearable safety item for trick-or-treating. Walkers and runners will receive a participation medal and t-shirt. It's a great way to get active, enjoy the season, and support a safe and spirited community celebration!

All registration will be done online.  To save time, please complete your registration prior to arriving on site.Get ready to raise the banner high at the Town and Gown Hybrid 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk as a part of Homecoming. The in-person race will take off at the Student Fitness Center at 8 a.m. and go through Uptown Normal and around campus. One water stop will be set on the course, and refreshments, courtesy of the Town of Normal, will be available afterward for all run/walk participants. Check out the course to get ready to run. The Office of Sustainability will be onsite with reusable water bottles and Zero Waste Crew to make this a zero-waste event. No pets, please. Strollers welcomed. Step off the beaten path and into the heart of history with the Washington Park Trails 5K journey. This uniquely crafted route offers a escape from the typical 5K in the park.  The route will guide you through the tranquil pathways of the forests in Washington Park.   The course, marked by cones, directional arrows, and safety tape, promises a seamless journey through scenic beauty and peaceful world of the forests in the park.  Your participation directly supports the restoration of the Leland Farm Summer Kitchen, a treasured piece of history that now graces our park. This event is an homage to the past, beginning and ending at this significant landmark, making every participant a steward of history. We will be in Diversey Event Space, across the street from Notebaert Nature Museum. The event offers race distances of half marathon and 5K ― with a special Halloween twist! Hundreds of runners and walkers of all ages and abilities dress in costume and compete for fun and prizes. Age group awards will be given in ten-year age ranges. And there is prize money for the winners of our pre-race Costume Contest! Second Wind Running Club welcomes you to the Allerton Park Trail Run! Let's hit the trails!  A good portion of the 5.7-mile course follows the Sangamon River which has proven quite challenging over the years.  Runners may find hidden roots, ruts, sharp turns, and other obstacles.  We donate a portion of the proceeds back to Allerton Park for trail maintenance or park enhancements. Our donations have been used towards a railing at a dangerous spot, trail erosion control, recycle bins, water fountain bottle filling station, a new café in the visitor's center, and more. We feel quite fortunate that the park allows us to bring so many into it and pound the trails! The run is NOT officially timed, but there will be an illuminated clock at the finish line.   While the luminaries gorgeously define the course, we recommend you bring a flashlight, especially if you are a slower runner.
