The Josh Waldrep Foundation is a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) started to honor Josh and raise awareness about the condition Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome, (CVS). Join us to run for those who are running the road to recovery from alcoholism and addiction. The Run for Recovery 5K supports the 24th Street Clubhouse - the heart of recovery in the Athens area. Join us for the sixth annual Miles for Midwest 5K Run benefitting Midwest Food Bank Georgia Division!!  The 5K course will begin at the Midwest Food Bank Facility in Peachtree City, Georgia and take you on a scenic run along the cart paths.  Race registration is $40 from January 1–March 31, 2026, and will be $45 from April 1–May 8, 2026.  ($5 discount will be taken off of registrations for those who are under 18 at checkout).  In-person registration available the morning of the run at $50 for adults and $45 for children under 18. US Road Running Races US Road Running races are built for runners and walkers who like friendly, low-pressure race days with just enough competition to keep things exciting. Our events are local, welcoming, and easy to jump into, whether you are chasing a PR, collecting another themed medal, working toward series points, or just getting outside with good people. Most races are small enough to feel personal but organized enough to feel official. You can expect a clear course, helpful race staff, finisher medals, results, and a relaxed community feel. HOW REGISTRATION WORKS The event is comprised of 24, 1-hour games in a row and is open to men's and women's teams of all ages and abilities. The Cancer Sucks 5K begins and ends at Etowah River Park in Canton, GA at 2:00pm. The entire course is on the beautiful greenway along the Etowah River. Runners and Walkers start together at 2:00pm. Our 5K runners will receive a Runner's BIB with timing chip and will be able to view their results on RunSignup. All runners registered before September 6th will receive a free race t-shirt. Walk, run or mountain bike...all ages...THE MISSION:  Starting next to Camp Merrill Army Ranger Base, you will be given a half-sheet card with the name and bio of a fallen service member (Hero). Your mission is to carry your Hero up the gravel road to the top of the hill to honor their sacrifice. When you get to the top, there will be a large Hero board, an American flag, and a cast iron Freedom bell. This race is a virtual 5k  which serves as a fundraiser for the Jordan D. Savage Foundation, Inc. A virtual race is an event where you sign up and participate on a course of your choosing (or a treadmill). This is a great opportunity to work towards your running goals, stay healthy, and support a great cause! US Road Running Races US Road Running races are built for runners and walkers who like friendly, low-pressure race days with just enough competition to keep things exciting.
