The Greater Madera Kiwanis Club presents the 22nd annual Mother’s Day Run on  Sunday May 12th at Woodward Park, Fresno Ca. We added a 5k run to our traditional 10k run and 2 mile run/walk along with the kids dash which is less than a 1/4 mile. Adult registration will earn you a coveted Mother’s Day run shirt. Youth pricing does not include a shirt, but can be added for an additional $5.  Complete an event to earn a finishers medal. Place in the top three of your age group, get an age group award. The race will be in the Woodward Park North East 12 Acres, (first parking lot when you enter from the Friant/Ft Washington entrance)   10k, 5k, 2Mi and kids race start times will be announced soon. This year, we are moving to a new venue, the beautiful and recently opened Kathleen MacDonald High School. The swim will be in the pool and the run on the track as usual. The bike course will continue to be on closed roads. There should be plenty of parking, the bike course has easy spectator viewing, and the whole event will be more compact. Because we are in a new venue with a smaller pool, we are cutting out some of the events that have been traditionally held in order to make the event smaller as we gain more experience with this venue. The La Jolla Half Marathon is one of America's most picturesque and beautiful point-to-point races. Starting at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, the course follows a scenic coastal route before reaching the challenging climb to the summit of Torrey Pines State Park. The course then rolls atop Torrey Pines mesa, continues down through residential La Jolla Shores, and finishes at La Jolla Cove. For those interested in a shorter option, the La Jolla Shores 5K offers a mostly downhill course and features some of the most scenic views of the last 3.1 miles of the half marathon course.

On Saturday, May 16, 2026, the City of Beaumont will celebrate the return of Breezin’ Through Beaumont. This event consists of a 5k road race. Everyone is encouraged to come out and watch this exciting event.  The race will begin in front of the Beaumont Civic Center, located at: 550 E. Luc's Run is held annually each spring in historic Tuolumne, California and Virtually Anywhere in the World. Luc's Run is known as one of the premier races in the county.  We are looking at welcoming our local 10K, 2-mile, and Kids Run (ages 10 & under) back to Tuolumne, CA in 2023! Two-day adult sailing classes are offered most weekends from 9 am to 4 pm at Fiddler's Cove Marina. Classes are open to all eligible MWR patrons and sponsored guests. Minimum age requirement is 16 years or older with a parent or guardian.   **A minimum of 6 hours of sail time at the Intermediate level (Catalina Capri 22) is required post Intermediate sailing course.  Class fees per person vary by military affiliation and rank. Dependent fees are calculated at the sponsoring active duty or retiree rate. Pre-registration is required as classes can fill up quickly. Registration includes boat rental, instruction, and textbooks. Students per boat will be kept to the minimum amount possible in order to maximize learning potential, and will range from one to four. Number of students per boat is dependent on the boat size, sailing conditions and the skills being developed in the class. Cherry Pickin’ 5K Wave Race                              At Leona Valley Elementary Saturday, May 23, 2026  The 5K WAVE RACE! This is a handicapped race based on Age-Graded tables. If you are a good runner for your age or gender, you could WIN this race! Your start time will depend on your age and gender per the table found in the link below.Custom medals will be given to the top 150 overall finishers – not based on age divisions. There are no age group divisions since the start of the race is handicapped by age and gender.Up and Down 5k Course - Uphill first half, super fun downhill coming back!All entries get a t-shirt – while supplies last.  There will also be a "Family Fun Run Wave."  If you would like to just come out and run, jog or walk and not worry about time or placing you may opt for the Family Fun Run Wave, starting at 8:00 am. Vi-Tri (Visalia Triathlon) is returning to El Diamante High School in Visalia. Come out and have some fun! This USAT Sanctioned Event is a great local triathlon, perfect for the 1st timer and veteran athlete.  Super Sprint Triathlon: 400 yard pool swim, 9 mile bike, 2.2 mile run. Participants get a shirt, cool finisher's medal, and a post race meal. Volunteer to earn discounted or free race entries.

Join us for a legendary race in the Eastern Sierra - an 8-mile uphill battle climbing 4,600 vertical feet to the historic ghost town of Cerro Gordo, once the richest silver mine in California. This is not your average run.This is a gut-check. A pilgrimage. A challenge against time, gravity, and yourself. The infamous Cerro Gordo Road was carved out in 1865 to shuttle silver down from the mountains. Now, once a year, runners race back up - chasing glory, chasing ghosts, and chasing history. When you summit the town, the day’s just beginning. Held on Memorial Day weekend, the annual Strawberry Stomp 5K provides individuals and families the unique opportunity to run/walk the Strawberry Festival Parade route, preceding the parade. All race proceeds benefit the Sister City Association of Garden Grove, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to furthering the knowledge and understanding between Garden Grove and its sister city Anyang, Republic of Korea while providing Garden Grove students the unique opportunity to travel abroad.
