Education Foundation Ringling Bridge Run

The Education Foundation of Sarasota County is proud to host the third annual Ringling Bridge Run — a community tradition across the iconic Ringling Bridge. Whether you’re a seasoned runner, a casual walker, or bringing the whole family for the fun run, there’s something for everyone. Participants can choose from the 5K, 10K, or family fun run. Proceeds benefit the Education Foundation of Sarasota County, a nonprofit that supports public school teachers and students in Sarasota County with programs that prepare students to get ready and go further. The Blakely Bumblebee Run

In Loving Memory of Blakely Elizabeth Puckett Why We Run Blakely Elizabeth Puckett was born on April 28, 2017 and passed away on February 18, 2018 after living 9½ months with Holoprosencephaly (HPE), a rare condition in which the brain fails to fully divide. Though her life was short, it was overwhelmingly meaningful. From the moment we learned of Blakely’s diagnosis, we were forced to wrestle with life, death, faith, and God Himself. Through her weakness, Blakely taught us that the meaning of life is not found in strength, length of days, or achievement, but in love - love that is freely given, unearned, and undeserved. Blakely lived fully dependent on others, yet her life drew people into the presence of God. She allowed herself to be loved, and in doing so reflected God’s love to everyone around her. This popular Sprint Triathlon is celebrating our 6th year in 2026.  Enjoy a safe and scenic race while enjoying the beauty of historic Defuniak Springs located in the Florida panhandle.  Our racers enjoy a 600 meter wet suit friendly swim in one of the world's two circular lakes, a 16 mile bike ride through the rolling hills of the Eucheeanna Valley and finish with a 5k flat run passing by the historic homes of Defuniak Springs. 24th Annual Tails & Trails 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, 1 Mile

Athletes of all skill levels are invited to run your choice of our 5K, 10K, Half Marathon or 1-Mile course.  All races will start at BMX parking, a short trail walk from the Animal Shelter @ Tom Brown Park. Races will finish at the Shelter's back parking lot. None of the courses will be run on Easterwood.  Easterwood will remain open before and during the races.
