Ride the River is a fun community bike ride for people of all ages. With distances of  20, 10, and 5 miles there is an event for every ability level. Flat tires? Squeaky brakes? Bike Bakersfield will be on hand to fix up your jalopy!  Parking for the event will be in the Finish Line parking lot with overflow parking available at CSUB parking lot J.  There will be music, vendors, and food. All proceeds benefit Bring Back the Kern.

Join Jogdawgs for a 5K fun run around the Desert Hills Premium Outlets in Cabazon, hosted by Lululemon DHO! This untimed run will take runners through the mall and surrounding areas, ending with a party and prizes for finishers!

A community FUN RUN 5K and 1 Mile Run/Walk inspired by Blaine Chandler’s light and love for others at Sundale School in Tulare. “Blaine was the heart of his family — full of light, music, faith, and service. He loved helping others, dreamed big, and lived with joy beyond his years. Blaine lived with joy and purpose beyond his years, teaching everyone around him to love big and keep smiling. Though our hearts ache, we are committed to honoring his legacy by continuing to serve and strengthen our community in his name,” -Blaine’s sister, Addyson. This race is being run for every family navigating grief, hope, and the importance of children’s mental health. Your support will help fund Blaine’s Corral at Sundale Elementary and raise awareness for children’s mental health initiatives in our community. Blaine was passionate about his school’s farm, and we hope to make it a place to shine for years to come.

Join us for the first annual Sonoma County Balloon Chase 5k and Little Chasers 1k dash! Presented to you by the Sonoma County Hot Air Balloon Classic. This event will take place on Sunday May 3rd at 8am at Keiser Park in Windsor, California!   The course is a 3.1 mile road route looping around the gorgeous Starr Road and Windsor River Road areas in Windsor. North Coast Striders is pleased to announce that the 41st Annual Boontling Classic 5K footrace will be held on Sunday, May 3rd, 2026 at 10:00 am at the Anderson Valley Elementary school in Boonville, California. Runners and walkers of all ages are welcome. Ribbons will be given to the top three placers in each of the ten age divisions, as well as plaques for first man/woman/non-binary. A post-race drawing will be held with prizes generously donated by local Anderson Valley businesses.  All proceeds will go to the Anderson Valley Food Bank in Boonville, CA. The race is currently sold out and we are accepting registrations for the waitlist only. Please consider our sister race this fall, the Humboldt Redwoods Marathon. It uses the same course as the Avenue of the Giants Marathon and is produced by the same running club.The Avenue of the Giants is one of the most beautiful races in the world!  It runs through old growth redwoods and follows a natural creek in the middle of a state park.  Staged on "The Avenue of the Giants" in Humboldt Redwoods State Park, located in rural Northern California. Course is on a paved road that winds gently up hill but is mostly a flat, fast destination race.  With little to distract you, the tall trees inspire the athlete in each of us to be strong.  The course is certified and the marathon is a Boston Qualifying event.

CYCLE THROUGH THE VINEYARDS 2025   Temecula Sunrise Rotary (a 501c3 nonprofit) is again celebrating Spring in the beautiful Temecula Valley Wine Country on Sunday May 3rd with our annual CYCLE THROUGH THE VINEYARDS 2026! And for our past participants, 2026 brings exciting changes! For the first time LORIMAR Vineyards will be our host venue for the start/finish, post-ride celebration and raffle! And we are again excited to award a raffle grand prize drawing of an AVENTON E-BIKE from AVENTON BIKES! Kern River Conservancy's Charity 6K/11K Run at historic Kernville and Whiskey Flat trail is a community-driven event dedicated to raising funds to support the Kern River Conservancy's mission of keeping the Kern River clean and protected. Runners and outdoor enthusiasts of all levels come together to enjoy a scenic course through the historic Keysville area while contributing to conservation efforts. Proceeds from the race go directly toward trash cleanups, habitat restoration, and public education programs that promote responsible recreation along the Kern River. This event not only raises awareness about environmental stewardship on the Kern River, but also fosters a strong sense of community involvement in preserving one of California’s most cherished natural resources. The annual Waves & Whales 5K Trail Run‐Walk is held on the Mendocino Coast in Point Arena. Taking full advantage of the location, the run takes place on the Point Arena-Stornetta Unit of the California Coastal National Monument. The course begins behind City Hall in the conifer forest off Highway 1, makes its way to the coast where it follows the bluffs, and then winds back into the pine and cypress forest. Proceeds from the Waves & Whales Trail Run support ACORN Partners in Education’s environmental stewardship program, Students Protecting the Coast, which engages youth in hands‐on learning with a focus on conservation and community outreach. Students Protecting the Coast began during the 2012‐13 school year as part of the local and national campaign to include the Point Arena‐Stornetta Lands in the California Coastal National Monument. Students continue to learn about our coastal landscape and are empowered to use their voice by sharing what they’ve learned with the community

The race begins at 8 am Cedar Creek at 500 N Westberry in Madera, California. The runners will run north on Westberry and then turn left on Riverview until you come to an entrance to run along the cannel. You will turn around at the marked area and return to Cedar Creek where we will have breakfast and provide the runners with their times. Each runner will be provided with a T-shirt.

Two-day adult sailing classes are offered most weekends from 9 am to 4 pm at Fiddler's Cove Marina. Classes are open to all eligible MWR patrons and sponsored guests. Minimum age requirement is 16 years or older with a parent or guardian.   **A minimum of 5 hours of sail time is required post beginner sailing course.  Class fees per person vary by military affiliation and rank. Dependent fees are calculated at the sponsoring active duty or retiree rate. Pre-registration is required as classes can fill up quickly. Registration includes boat rental, instruction, and textbooks. Students per boat will be kept to the minimum amount possible in order to maximize learning potential, and will range from one to four. Number of students per boat is dependent on the boat size, sailing conditions and the skills being developed in the class. Participants will have access to county and community mental and physical health resources, interactive information tables, free snacks and drinks, and live entertainment. Our goal is to create a space that is uplifting, supportive, and informative—where people can move their bodies, connect with others, and learn about the resources available to support their well-being. Big Sur Land Trust's 2026 Race for Open Space is a one-day trail running event dedicated to fostering an appreciation of natural spaces in Monterey County and celebrating the health benefits of time spent in nature. This annual event invites runners and hikers of all ages to find wonder among Monterey County’s most iconic landscapes. This time of year will provide participants with sweeping views of green ridge lines punctuated by colorful wildflowers. Centered around Palo Corona Regional Park, participants are invited to choose their adventure by registering for a 5K, 12K, 25K, or 35K+ trail run. Each course promises a spectacular journey through sections of the Palo Corona Backcountry, normally closed to the public. A one-mile Fun-Run will be offered for individuals of all ages and abilities. Race for Open Space’s technical partner, Inside Trail Running, will oversee the start/finish line, trail-marking, aid stations, and participant timing/results. All activities will be off
