Time for a New Year Challenge!  Join the WRRC in running from Westminster, MD to the Beach!  Our challenge will begin at Run Moore in Westminster, head onto the Bay Bridge, take a few stops in the towns along the way on the Eastern Shore and finish at the Ocean City Inlet.  That's 172 miles of running!  This virtual challenge will take place from Jan 1, 2026 to March 20, 2026 to finish up just to the start of Spring.  Log your miles on Run Signup and you'll track your progress along the map.  You'll earn "badges" along the way for milestones in your trip.  For you longer runners, if 172 miles isn't enough...challenge yourself to make the return trip in the same amount of time!  That badge is only for the few.   Best of all, this is FREE for all WRRC members. 5K run on the old Wakefield Golf Course trails. Run in memory of Terry Burk and Sam Case. $1.00 from each entry goes to the Westminster Road Runners Club Running Shoe Scholarship Fund; Run Moore will match each $1.00 raised. All participants will receive a custom finisher medal. A coupon for a slice of pizza from Classico Pizzeria will be provided for all finishers. Assorted awards will also be provided. Registration is $10.00. Online registration will close April 17 at 11:59 p.m. Race day registration is available.

Ruck & Rosé 5K  City of Westminster’s First-Ever Ruck Event! Grab your pack and raise a glass — the Ruck & Rosé 5K is making its debut in Westminster for Mother’s Day weekend! Join us on Saturday, May 9th, 2026, at 9:00 AM at Wakefield Valley Park (1000 Fenby Farm Rd, Westminster, MD 21157) for a one-of-a-kind fitness event that combines strength, fun, and a little rosé flair. What is Rucking?Rucking is simply walking or hiking with a weighted backpack (aka a “ruck”), rooted in military training. It’s low-impact, high-reward, and perfect for all fitness levels. Whether you’re brand new or a seasoned rucker, this 5K course will challenge you, energize you, and leave you feeling strong. Participants must have their ruck/pack weighed at the weigh-in station both before and after the race to confirm it meets the minimum required weight. In person Fun Walk or Individual Walk in June All money raised benefits these initiatives Diabetes Awareness & Research: Lions Clubs International – the world's largest volunteer organization – announced in 2017 it will mobilize its 47,000 service clubs in 200 countries around a new signature cause - the global diabetes epidemic. The organization, founded 103 years ago, unveiled diabetes as a new focus for its 1.4 million members. Lions Camp Merrick: Located in southern Maryland, Lions Camp Merrick offers non-stop fun for local children who are Deaf, Blind or are Type 1 Diabetic and are between the ages 6-16.   Campers will participate in a “traditional overnight camp” experience supervised by trained and caring counselors.  They also offer Family Diabetic Camp and Sibling Diabetic Camp for type 1 diabetic campers and their family members.

Proceeds from The Milk Run and Stroll will support CCFS's milk voucher program, along with its other supplemental nutrition efforts for the Carroll Community.  Milk vouchers redeemable at local grocery stores are distributed to our client families each week. Carroll Food Sunday is a nondenominational, almost completely volunteer operated, non-profit organization now in its 44th year. CCFS is a major provider of supplemental nutrition in Carroll County.
