TopCity Half Marathon

Join us for the TopCity Half Marathon & 5K on May 2nd, 2026.  The Top City Half Marathon & 5k aims to be a premiere event that enhances the health, wellness and culture of Topeka.  The route takes you on the popular Shunga running trail, while also showcasing the neighborhoods of Kansas’ TopCity. Every participant receives a participant race T-Shirts, a finisher medal, participant bags filled with sponsorship goodies, and access to post race beverages from Chaos Coffee and Iron Rail Brewing (if over 21)! This is more than a race; this is a celebration of our amazing city!  Please note, to allow us to satisfy city permit requirements for street closures, half marathon participants must maintain a pace of 16 minutes per mile or faster.

Steps for Stegman

Topeka, KS
Jardine Elementary is hosting a 5K walk/run through the neighborhood in honor and support of our Instructional Coach, Dr. Bridget Stegman. She was diagnosed with ALS, and proceeds for the event will go toward the ALS Association, Mid-America Chapter. In 4 years we have raised $19,850 from Steps for Stegman. The 5K will take participants through the neighborhood around Jardine Elementary. Parking is available in the West and South parking lots. The event will start on the East side of the building.   All registrants will receive an event T-shirt, if registration is completed by April 4th. If you are unable to participate in the race, but still want to contribute, please click the "Donate" button! If you would like to receive a t-shirt, you must register as a runner, even if you don't plan to run/walk.  On the day of the event, check-in will begin at 7:30am. The run will begin at 8:30am.

2026 GermanFest Brat Trot

2026 Fiesta Topeka 5K

Come join in the celebration of the Capital City's Mexican culture and traditions! This is Topeka's longest-running 5K Run/Walk that started in 1977 by Paul Griego.  The Topeka Fiesta 5K will be held on June 27, 2026 at the Oakland Community Center (801 NE Poplar Street). Topeka Road Run

The Independence Day celebration in Topeka, Indiana is a grand tradition.  Each year, the tiny town comes alive with a fireworks display, a parade, basketball and softball tournaments, food vendors, kids games and watermelon eating competition and much more!  But before the fireworks blast off or kids race to pick up candy at the parade, the day begins with the Road Run.  Begun in 1974 the road run is the oldest consecutively run race in the state.  This year's race, the 53rd annual, will take place on Saturday July 4th at the Topeka East Park located at 510 E Lake Street. The road run has two events for kids and adults.  We will kick things off at 8:15 a.m. with a One-Mile Fun Run for kids 13 and under.  It’s a great opportunity for kids to try something new and get active.  Medals will be awarded to the top three boys and girls.  At 8:30, the 5K race, open to all ages, will begin at the park and wind its way through the streets of Topeka.  Prizes will be awarded to the top three

Walt Detachment – Marine Corps League 5k Join us at beautiful Lake Shawnee in Topeka, Kansas for a day of fitness, fun, and community support at the 5K/10K Walk & Run benefiting the General Lewis W. Walt Detachment of the Marine Corps League. This family-friendly event invites runners and walkers of all ages and skill levels to enjoy the scenic lake trails while supporting a great cause. Proceeds will directly benefit the General Lewis W. Walt Detachment, helping us continue our mission of supporting Marines, veterans, and their families right here in Kansas. Through the Indy Races, we aim to provide ongoing assistance to these organizations, enabling them to continue helping families in need. We are committed to promoting a healthy lifestyle and fostering a supportive community. Turkey Trot and Fun Run

Please join us on November 22nd to walk, run, skip, hop, roll or stroll a 5K to kick off Thanksgiving Break! There will also be a shorter Fun Run so everyone can participate! Stay and enjoy offerings from local food trucks as well as cheer on your school’s mascot as they race for the glory at 10:15! Members of PTOs from every elementary school in USD437 have collaborated to put on this fun event for the kids and community! All funds raised will be divided amongst the schools equally.
