The Tulip Trot 5K is a benefit race to help support the Freudenthal Center for Parkinson's Disease, a non-profit organization that helps people with Parkinson's Disease (PD) fight its debilitating effects. All proceeds will go to help our various exercise programs in the form of new equipment and facility maintenance, along with providing the means to add new programs to the center, like cycling. Your entry fee will also help to fund our support group by allowing it to afford to purchase support materials that can be handed out at no cost to the participants. The race will be held by the Remington Nature Center on Saturday, April 18th.The Race will begin at 10 am. Register by April 2nd to guarantee your event t-shirt. This is more than a race—it’s a celebration of connection, resilience, and caring for our minds as well as our bodies. The 5K will start & finish across from Phil Welch Stadium/Bode Ice Arena, 2500 Southwest Parkway, St. Joseph MO 64503. The race will proceed through the SW Parkway over the trail bridge (Belt Highway) & return. Enjoy scenic spring-time views of the beautiful Fairview golf course and Parkway. Prepare to achieve your personal best on this 3.1 mile course. BFit CrossFit is proud to sponsor the return of this St. Joseph tradition.   The Apple Blossom 5K run/walk will kick off the annual Apple Blossom Parade.  In addition to a traditional 5K race, this year's event will include additional events for teams to test their functional fitness as well as endurance.   In the spirit of CrossFit, teams may enter to traverse the 3.1 mile course. ROCK AND RUN

This is the 22nd anniversary of the Lory's Place Run, Walk and Rock to benefit Lory's Place, a Grief Healing and Education Center.  Every year, Lory’s Place is honored and grateful for the community’s support of Run Walk Rock. All of the programs and services at Lory’s Place are available at no charge. That means that no child or adult is ever turned away because of an inability to pay. The children, adults, and families who are part of Lory’s Place join us in expressing deepest gratitude to you for supporting our mission of grief healing. Since the opening of Lory’s Place bereavement programs in 2004, we have been honored to support over 63,000 children, teens and adults and after the death of a significant person. Our programs reach beyond our facility doors offering over 60 peer support groups in Berrien, Cass and Van Buren Counties. Join us in celebrating the life and memory of Corey S. Thompsen – a beloved husband, family member, friend, and Illinois State Trooper who passed away in the line of duty at 28 years old. Corey was an avid runner, earning his varsity letter in cross country and track all four years at St. Joseph-Ogden High School. He competed for both Western Illinois University and Danville Area Community College. The Trooper Thompsen Memorial 5k will be a fitting event to carry on Corey's love of running and community. You're invited to Woodard Family Park for the race, touch-a-truck, face painting, food trucks, 50/50 drawing, and raffles. Proceeds and donations will go to the Trooper Corey S. Thompsen Memorial Fund, which will help support local charitable projects and scholarships in Corey's name. The 5K course will take runners and walkers along the beautiful St. Joseph River and two Lake Michigan beaches. Participants will race along Silver Beach, Lions Park Beach and Howard Recreational Trail and then through the Whirlpool Compass Fountain. The race begins and ends at the Margaret Upton Arboretum. The 5K begins at 9 a.m. The non-competitive 1K fun run (0.62 miles) begins prior to the 5K. With volunteers cheering along the way, the children will follow a paved sidewalk and safe route. Parents are encouraged to run with younger children. All participants will receive a race bib, rubber duck award and t-shirt. The THIRD ANNUAL St. Joseph 5k “Turkey Trot” Run/Walk will be held on November 26, 2026!  Starting and finishing at the Margaret B. Upton Arboretum, this will be a wonderful way for families to gather, friends to reunite, and the community to strengthen – not to mention a guilt-free way to begin a day famous for indulging!  Participants will run or walk past Silver Beach Pizza, Shadowland, the Carousel, and our Iconic beaches on the way to an energetic finish with music, refreshments, and awards. Our goal is simply to create an event that will become a tradition as so many other Thanksgiving Day races have become throughout Michigan.

This year there's two great ways to enjoy the annual Snowflake Shuffle 5K! About the race: Fast and fun certified course that meanders through St. Joseph, starting and finishing on the campus of the College of Saint Benedict. Or, if you'd rather, a virtual 5K that you can run wherever you are! ​All the fun stuff: Snowflake Shuffle provides one of the coolest long-sleeved race t-shirts in central Minnesota to each finisher. (Technical T-shirts!) If you're running in person, you can pick up your shirt the day of the race. If you're competing virtually, be sure to email Robin your time and a selfie after you finish!
