Train to run the Capital City 5 Mile Race! This program, led by Club Oly members, is a 15-week program designed for new runners, runners returning to running after a break, and those who have NO running experience. Whether you want to meet your goal of completing a five mile race or running your strongest five mile race, we will help you reach your goal. (Before starting any training program, please consult your physician.) Using the run/walk method, we will start with 30 minutes of walking and jogging just 3 times a week.  Join us Saturday, January 31 @ 9 am at Briggs YMCA for a kickoff meeting.  Training will begin the following Monday February 2 at Marathon Park at 6 pm. Run Like a Fool 5k and Kids 1k Run Come Run Like a Fool and have fun and be festive in your wackiest costume.  The course is flat and fast with two laps around scenic Capitol Lake. The Donut Dash 5K sold out, so be sure to register now to secure your spot. Whether Boston is your goal or not, the Bound for Boston Marathon & Half Marathon is for you. We are racing around Olympia High School and the course features a 1-mile, super flat and super fast loop, making it ideal for consistent pacing and record-setting performances. The Full Marathon is USATF certified, making it a Boston Qualifier. This event is uniquely designed for serious runners. We will have water and an electrolyte drink at the aid table. 2026 marks the 50th Anniversary of the Olympia Lakefair Races, which include the Jerry Miller Half Marathon, an 8K and a 3K including free entry for Kids 14 and under; taking runners on routes that circle around the town of Olympia and beyond into Tumwater and Thurston County. Both the 3K and 8K start and finish on 5th Avenue in front of Heritage Park.  They both circle Capitol Lake, with the 8K continuing into Tumwater Historical Park before returning. Both are flat and fast courses.  The Jerry Miller Half Marathon heads briefly through downtown Olympia, then along the Woodland Trial and Chehalis Western Trail biking paths.  The course continues on rural streets and a short trail and tour of Squaxin Park before heading back along East Bay Drive and running through downtown Olympia to the finish line in front of Heritage Park.  Runners will enjoy tree-lined trails and scenic landscapes while enjoying flat and narrow paved trails throughout. OLY TURKEY DAY 4 MILER Start your Thanksgiving morning with a fun and festive tradition at the Oly Turkey Day 4 Miler Run/Walk! Gather your family and friends and enjoy a great 4-mile course that’s perfect for runners and walkers of all levels. It’s a wonderful way to get moving before the holiday feast while celebrating community, health, and gratitude. All participants will receive a chip-timed race bib, finisher medal, and after-race snacks. Registrants will also receive a custom Junk Brand headband with their registration. The headband guarantee date is Friday, October 3rd. Finisher medals are not guaranteed after October 6th. Race shirts are available for purchase.
