2026 Fox Point Sunset Road Race

Join us for the most scenic race on the Seacoast! The course is a beautiful run or walk through historic Newington Village streets, with water views, farmland, and some challenging hills. In addition to our original 5 miler, we now offer an option to run or walk a 5K course. With two great races and a Kids Fun Run, we have something to offer everyone! The Fox Point Sunset Road Race is the primary fundraiser for the Newington School Supporters.  Every year, the funds raised from your participation and our sponsors directly benefit the students of the Newington Public School.

Valley of Hartford 5K Road Race

Newington, CT
The annual Valley of Hartford 5K Road Race raises funds to support the Children's Dyslexia Centers of Connecticut. These centers offer one-on-one tutorial sessions to children valued at $5000/child and also offer teacher training programs valued at $10,000/tutor. 100% of the proceeds are distributed to the Children's Dyslexia Centers of Connecticut.  For more information on the Children's Dyslexia Centers of Connecticut, please visit https://www.childrensdyslexiacenters.org/centers/connecticut-connecticut/   COMPLIMENTARY T-SHIRTS for the first 200 registrants! All participants can hydrate and replenish for free from an assortment of baked pastries, fruits, gatorade, and water! Wellness services by Roba Physical Therapy and Wellness. Includes massage tables, cupping, normatec compression boots and more! Sabine Strong 3.3 & Kids Dash

FIRE CHIEF DARIN J. SABINE Newington Fire Chief Darin Sabine was born on August 4, 1984 in Newington, NH and his lastalarm was on September 7, 2019 after a 2-year battle with colon cancer. Chief Sabine was diagnosed in early 2017 with Stage 4 colon cancer. He had spent much of hisshort time here on earth either with family or at the fire station. He was dedicated to his family andbrotherhood. He fought hard to spend as much time as he could with his wife and 2 little girls. Our hope with this run is that we will keep Chief Sabine’s memory alive and raise funds to support first responders and their families who have been affected by cancer or other life-threatening illnesses or injuries.  The race length of 3.3 miles is in honor of Newington Fire Department 33.
