Come join the fun as we run 3.14 miles -- a "Pi Mile" -- around the beautiful Kansas State University campus to benefit activities in the Carl R. Ice College of Engineering at K-State. This race is chip timed and awards will be given to the top finishers. Pie and Ice Cream will be served after the race and top finishers will also get the opportunity to pie a professor in the face. Don’t miss the Run for the Roses 5k and 1k Walk!  Runners will start and finish in the beautiful K-State Gardens, take a lap on the track inside the historic World War I football field, and cruise by Anderson Hall, the Student Union, and Ahearn Fieldhouse.  First, second, and third place winners will get a beautiful glazed purple pot with rose-shaped succulent plant!  Sorry, no dogs on the course.  The 5K course is USATF Certified for 2026 (KS21034TJD).  Virtual runners can use any 5K course to run between 4/24 and 4/29--time yourself and submit results by following the "click here" link near the QR code in your registration confirmation e-mail Follow us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/share/17vdGba2cP/?mibextid=wwXIfr

There will be a Sweeper at the race that will maintain a 20-minute per mile pace. Please stay ahead of the sweeper to be guaranteed an official time at the finish.  Course marshals will be on course until the sweeper passes them. We will hand out overall and age group winner awards in the main festival tent starting at around 12:30 pm until around 3 pm. Any awards not picked up on race day can be picked up at Manhattan Public Library on Monday, March 8, 2027, between 4:30 pm and 6 pm.  Welcome to Irish Fest: In cooperation with the Irish American Society of County Will, the Prairie State Road Runners proudly presents the annual Manhattan Irish Fest Parade 5k.
