There’s a certain kind of clarity that only shows up after a few hours on your feet. Lynchburg UltraFest is the first event of its kind in Lynchburg—a true 24-hour ultra experience inside a city park, built around simplicity: one loop, one space, and the opportunity to keep showing up. Run it solo. Run it as a team. Either way, the challenge is the same. The course is a .84-mile paved loop inside Riverside Park. You’ll start and finish in the same place every lap—near the gazebo and caboose. No guesswork. No point-to-point logistics. Just rhythm. This race is for anyone willing to stay in it a little longer than they’re used to.

Give thanks and give back: Support families striving for stability this holiday season. Shake a tail feather with your favorite holiday tradition: the HumanKind Lynchburg Turkey Trot, presented by Scott Insurance. The Lynchburg Turkey Trot is a community fun run/walk with all proceeds of this fundraising race supporting the programs and services of HumanKind. More Than a Race This race is a testament to what happens when a community comes together, creating something powerful through generosity, connection, and unwavering support for neighbors in need. Bring your flock, come dressed in costume, and be part of a tradition that makes a meaningful difference. Did you know? The event's roots stretch back to 1988 when Don Lucy, who grew up at Presbyterian Homes, now known as HumanKind, created the race as a way to give back and help raise funds and awareness for individuals, children, and families across Virginia. What started as a simple act of generosity has grown into one of Lynchburg's most anticipated holiday traditions, attracting thousands of participants and supporters each year.
