This year, the Kappa Delta chapter at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette will be hosting its annual Shamrock Fun Run in support of Faith House of Acadiana and Prevent Child Abuse America (PCAA)! Our big event will take place on March 21st, 2026 at 10 a.m. at the Intramural Complex at UL Lafayette. We will provide free food and drinks, raffle prizes, games, live music, local vendors, and so much more! The run itself is one mile long, and participants may run, jog, or leisurely walk the route. 80% of all event proceeds will stay right here in our own community to fund the incredible work done by Faith House of Acadiana. Without your generosity, Faith House of Acadiana would not be able to help survivors of domestic violence in the extraordinary ways that they do. The remaining 20% of event proceeds will go to Prevent Child Abuse America, which is the leading advocate for preventing child abuse and neglect among our nation’s children since 1972. Who We Are: Healthy Kids Running Series is a five (5) week running program in the spring and fall for kids Pre-K through 8th grade. Each HKRS Series takes place once a week and offers age-appropriate running events including the 50 & 75 yard dashes, the 1/4 mile, the 1/2 mile and the 1 mile run. Kids will earn points for each race they complete based on their finish. Pricing: The registration fee covers the entire five (5) weeks of the Series which includes race bibs for each week, a runner shirt, a finisher medal and any sponsor giveaways. Registration is non-refundable and non-transferable. 2026 Sickle Cell 3K & 1 Mile Walk/Run & Health Expo George Dupuis Rec Center Graham Brown Memorial Park 1234 E. Pont des Mouton Road Lafayette, LA 70507 Saturday, September 19, 2026 Registration begins at 6:30am. Warm-Up begins at 7:45am The walk/run starts at 8:00. The Expo is from 8:30 – 11:30. This is the 5th annual Sickle Cell Walk/Run & Health Expo. This event is hosted by the 100 Black Men of Greater Lafayette, Acadiana Black Nurses Association, Flatland Runners, and Sickle Cell Association of South Louisiana. SCD is an inherited red blood disorder that affects 1 in 375 African Americans and 100,000 Americans. Healthy red blood cells are round and move through small blood vessels to carry oxygen throughout the body. The red blood cells in someone one who has SCD are C-shaped and become hard and sticky. The sickle shape makes it hard to flow through the blood vessels and prevents oxygen throughout the body. When the sickle cells get stuck in the small blood vessels it clogs the blood flow and creates a pain crisis. All proceeds from the race support those in this community with sickle cell disease (SCD). Immediately following the race is a health expo that is free to the public. Event Details: There will be a 3k route and a 1 mile route. All ages, including kids, are welcome. There will be water provided. The health expo is from 8:30 – 11:30 and will have vendors from various organizations, free food and door prizes, and guest speakers. Registration Fees for each Category: $35 for all participants. Since 1977, we have provided essential community services across Louisiana, reaching thousands of individuals impacted by epilepsy. Our mission is to assist those affected by epilepsy within their communities by addressing the broad spectrum of challenges seizures can bring. We are thrilled to host our 3rd Seize the Day Acadiana on September 20, 2026. This event is 1 of 4 fundraising events across the state dedicated to supporting people with epilepsy. For over 20 years, we’ve featured a 1-mile run/walk, which is now called the "Warrior Walk." To better align with our mission and to honor the strength and courage of those affected by epilepsy, the Warrior Walk will now be a walk-only event and will not be timed. This year, we’re excited to announce the return of the 5K run, joining our signature 1‑mile Warrior Walk. What is a Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk? The Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk Series was created to honor the heroic life and death of Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001 after strapping on his gear and running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers. Honor all of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 and support our first responders and military who make extraordinary sacrifices in the line of duty! For more information on the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation please visit www.t2t.org. How far is a Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk? This is a 5K (3.1 miles). You are welcome to walk or run this event. Can I register the day of the run? Yes, registration will open at 7:00 AM on the day of the race. When does online registration close? Online registration will close August 21, 2026. Is this a timed event? No. Where can I pick up my packet? Packet pick up will take place at Moncus Park on November 7th from 8 AM to 11 AM. If you are unable to pick up your packet early, you can pick up on race day. Do I have to wear my bib number? Yes, please display your bib on the front of your outermost garment. Those who run without a bib will be asked to leave the course and will not be allowed to finish. I am a fast runner. Can I get a front-line position? Runners predicting a pace faster than 6 minutes/mile will be seeded in the front corral (arrive early). Will water be available? Yes, a water station will be available along the route and there will be water available at the finish. What can you bring to the event? Can I run with a stroller, backpack, wheelchair, roller blades, dogs, bicycle, etc.? Strollers and wheelchairs are permitted. Firefighter turnout gear and military backpacks are also permitted. Bicycles, roller blades, and pets are not permitted on the course. Please leave all personal items and valuables in your vehicle. All items should be stored securely in your vehicle at the owner's risk. The Tunnel to Towers Foundation will not be responsible for the loss of any items. Can someone else pick up my packet for me? Yes, they can. They must present a copy of your registration receipt. And don't forget to thank them! Can I still donate to a team and/or individual after the start of the race? Cajun Cup 10K and Farrel’s mile is a fundraiser used to support the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns Cross Country and Track teams. Your participation is greatly appreciated. Ready. Set. Gleaux! Join us on Thanksgiving Eve as we light up Camellia Boulevard for the 24th annual Camellia Crossing! On November 25, put on your gleaux gear and race down to River Ranch Town Square for a night of family fun that makes a direct impact on the lives of local families fighting, surviving, and living with cancer. It doesn't matter what race you sign up for, everyone who registers is welcome to participate in both races. Your registration fee includes a gleaux-in-the-dark T-Shirt, a variety of gleaux gear, and a food and drink wristband for the official after-party. Join us for the 5th Annual JPJ Memorial 1-mile Turkey Trot! The JPJ Memorial Turkey Trot is a timed 1-mile run/walk Thanksgiving morning through Moncus Park in memory of JeanPaul Judice. Our mission is to continue to spread JeanPaul’s unconditional love and desire to help those in need. We are happy to team up Catholic Charities of Acadiana to raise money for St. Joseph Diner. Since 1983, St. Joseph Diner has served meals to those experiencing hunger and food insecurity. This race is the perfect setting to come together on Thanksgiving to show gratitude with your community. Bring your family and friends together for a traditional run/walk/trot/waddle before taking on your Thanksgiving Feast! We welcome all stages of runners and walkers. This race will be timed and prizes will be awarded to the top three males and females. About Jean Paul.. JeanPaul lived the road less traveled. This included his love for the many things that go unappreciated in today's world, from noticing the daily beauty of sunrises and sunsets with his brothers to anticipating the extraordinary gifts of each new day. JeanPaul chose to live a life where love and happiness filled his heart, and anyone that ever met him would be impacted with a compassionate ear and positive kind words. He was passionate about changing our world, both physically and spiritually. He believed that his message of loving our world began with family and friends; but, he hoped that by spreading a message of unconditional love among his closest relationships, change would be rippled across the universe starting from a place deep in his heart. In our superficial world, he was a young man of immense substance. He knew that every person mattered and he loved them unconditionally.

This is the final race of our Triple Crown Challenge. It is strategically placed on the calendar before many of the spring marathons and half marathons. It is the perfect distance for the build up on your training plan. The event is held at Picard Park in Milton, Louisiana. CajunMan Tri, Du, AquaBike, Aquathon & 5k run/walk Sunday, September 7, 2025 @ 7:00 am This race is a tradition, for all endurance fiends! 1/2 mile of swimming in Airport Lake, 20 miles of pedaling on the roads of Lafayette Parish, and 3.1 miles on foot through the grounds of the Lafayette Regional Airport.  Whether a beginner doing their first open water triathlon or an experienced triathlete looking for one of the best races on the Gulf Coast, this is the event!! Race Distances The SWIM -- 1/2 mile or 400 meter beginnerThis is an open water swim. Water temperatures will most likely be in the mid-70F range. Use of wet suits is subject to USA Triathlon rules.
