Races

The List is that part of your thoughts that haunts you with the seemingly unending focus on mileage.  Mileage dictated by hopeful resolutions.  Mileage that is just incrementally more than the last year.  Mileage so big that you fear to even calculate the required daily amount of running needed. The List cares nothing of your resolutions, goals or fears.  It cares only for the mileage you feed it.... #FEEDTHELIST 2026 mileage shirts will be sold through the 2026 River to River Runners Club Banquet registration.  Banquet registration should open around Thanksgiving. At Herrin, IL Sports Complex located on Bandyville Road Registration/Check-In: 6:00 am - 7:00 am Race hours: 7:00 am - 1:00 pm The start/finish will be located on the south side of the complex Loop course is relatively flat, paved pedestrian trail 1.3-miles long Runners completing the most loops in six hours will earn awards. Awards will be given to the top three overall and to the top three in the following age groups for both genders: 19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & over All participants will receive a Hearts Desire t-shirt Drinks, soup, and snacks will be available at the HQ tent near the start For additional information contact: Chris Bickers 618-521-6499

The Herrinfesta Road Races has a long history of families and friends coming together on Memorial Day to have fun, to suffer in the heat for a few miles. If you have never ran it before then you should come join us for a really fun time. With one of the fastest courses around, runners can come to Herrin and shoot for a new PR. This is a family friendly event with a few race options. The 10k run, the 5K walk, the Park Avenue Mile, and the kids mile. Ambitious runners can even sign up for both the 10k and the mile.

Join us for our 1st Annual 5K Run or Walk, Operation: Jake.  What is Down the Leash Service Dogs? A 501(C)3 Veteran ran Non-Profit Organization that provides an environment for our nations heroes to not only train their Service Dogs, but also provides a safe environment with a family like atmosphere. Down the Leash Service Dogs teaches basic and advanced dog handling skills where the Veteran works alongside their service partner, building a bond as they go.  When is the Race? Saturday October 10th 2026, we are excited to once again be hosting the race at the Herrin Park District Park in Herrin, Illinois, who has welcomed us back with open arms.  The Race will begin with packet pickup at 9am, followed by an Opening Ceremony with a Presention of Colors at 10:30am. The race will begin immediately following the completion of the opening ceremony.  Stay Tuned for an announcement on other fun things we have planned for the day of the race!
