Join us for the 2026 Hammond Firefighters memorial 9-11 5K & 1-mile fun run. This year's event will be FUN FOR THE ENTIRE FAMILY! SO, COME OUT AND SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL FIRE FIGHTERS OF HAMMOND LOUISIANA! Proceeds of the race stay in the community and help fund local nonprofit programs that our local Fire Fighters care deeply about. Our guys are always out there helping and saving lives, so let us get out and support them. Race Location: Starts and finishes at Cate Square Park in beautiful Downtown Hammond. Course: Flat scenic course starting at Cate Square Park to Southeastern Louisiana University. We will run around Southeastern's campus and finish back at Cate Square Park. Pre-Race packet pick-up will be Thursday, September 17th at Perfectly Fit, from 10am-6pm & Friday, September 18, at Perfectly Fit, from 10am-3pm. Race day packet pick-up will be 7am-7:45am for 1 mile & 7am-8:15 for 5K. Awards Finisher medals for all runners. What began as a small neighborhood race has grown into a beloved December tradition, filling our streets with families, athletes, and holiday spirit. Thanks to the generous support of Davie Shoring, this year’s event promises to be our best yet. The race often sells out, so don’t wait to register! Choose Your Distance Whether you’re racing the chip-timed 5K or enjoying the 1-Mile Fun Run, there’s a spot for everyone on the course. It’s the perfect way to kick off the holiday season with friends and family. The Route Starting and finishing at Cate Square Park, the course winds through Hammond’s historic district and heads out and back through Southeastern Louisiana University, a festive mix of small-town charm and campus pride. The Hammond Rotary's Charity Shamrock Run, will offer runners an opportunity to run the 1-mile and 5K/10K. This year's course will be at the Renaissance Festival grounds in Hammond, Louisiana (46468 River Rd, Hammond, LA 70401). The 5K/10K will take you on roads around the festival and then around the small lake, through the Renaissance Village. T-Shirts are now optional, if you desire a t-shirt, add it on in check out! Please register by Monday, February 23rd, 2026 to guarantee that you'll get your desired size. We always order extra T's for late registration, but sizes will not be guaranteed after Feb 27th.  Start time for 1-Mile Fun Run is 8:00AM. 5K and 10K start time is 8:30AM. Walkers are welcome to participate in the 1 mile and 5K events! Due to time constraints, walkers are not allowed in the 10K. We will have finisher medals for all 5K and 10K runners!
