Savage Race Volunteers 2026 Join the heart of Savage Race by volunteering! Volunteers keep our races safe, fun, and unforgettable, and we’re excited to have you on the team!

We welcome and support runners of all levels from beginners to experienced marathoners! Gainesville Galloway also has a robust Walking Program that produces results while having fun. We are a friendly group that welcomes both walkers and runners of any ability and experience. Many of our members have been with us for years! Many of our locations also allow us to socialize afterwards while providing safe routes that accommodate the longer distances needed to prepare for half and full marathons. Come join us! Join us to train for Key West Marathon, Running from Yeti, Tulsa Oilers Arena Challenge, Disney Princess, Go Girl Run, Flying Pig and any other event or just to stay in shape and run/walk with friends!  Gainesville Galloway also has an All Walking Group for those who cannot or do not wish to run. Hearoes for Hearing is a student-led non-profit whose mission is to raise awareness and funds for patients in the UF Health Cochlear Implant Program. Hearoes is the philanthropy of the University of Florida's National Student Speech-Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA), engaging students and the greater Gainesville community to support hearing health initiatives.    A cochlear implant is a device that provides direct electrical stimulation to the auditory (hearing) nerve in the inner ear. Children and adults with a severe to profound hearing loss who do not benefit from hearing aids may be better candidates for cochlear implants. Costs of evaluations, hospital bills, implantation, the device, and programming can run up to $100,000, highlighting the importance of organizations like Hearoes for Hearing to support families with such expenses.   This spring, we are organizing a virtual fundraiser to assist with these costs. UNITED WE RUN for those struggling to make ends meet in Hall County. Join us as we race through Phase II of the scenic Highlands to Islands Trail. Proceeds will benefit United Way of Hall County’s One Hall: United Against Poverty Initiative. Events will be held rain or shine. In the event of dangerous weather, we will make every effort to reschedule. All entry fees are non-refundable and can be applied to the rescheduled event or donated to United Way of Hall County. 2026 Trail of Payne 5k, 10K & 1 Mile Fun Run  This years 14th annual Trail of Payne will have a 5k, 10K and a 1 Mile Fun Run (fun run is not chip timed) option at Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park. This is a pure trail race you wont want to miss! This run promises to be one of the most unique in the area, so take advantage of our beautiful state park during and after the race. 5K and 10K will share a start and then split off on their own unique course. This is a completely new course, so if you have run before, we will be starting and finishing in a different area.  We will start the 5k and 10k at the Wauberg Lake picnic area and dock. Runners will head out on a dirt road before splitting and entering the trails. 5k will run Jacksons Gap Trail to Cones Dike where they will turn around and head back to the start/finish. The 10k will enjoy a lot of the same trails as previous races, except in reverse. Expect every type of surface: packed dirt, roots, grass, soft sand and even a litt

Join Frank Buck Zoo and Save Giraffes Now for the World Giraffe Day 5K on June 21, 2025 at the zoo. Come join us for our fourth annual Syfan Supports 5K and Fun Run on Friday, July 17th at 6:15 pm! This event will take place at the Midland Greenway in Gainesville, Ga. My Sister's Place will be the beneficiary of this event this year!  My Sister's Place is a Christ-centered shelter that restores hope for single women and mothers with children who are experiencing homelessness. Our program helps rebuild stability by providing a loving and welcoming environment, spiritual growth opportunities, community connections, and life skills training to support the journey to housing independence.   We raised $50,000 last year for Love Your Story! It is amazing to see the community come together to support a great cause. Join us this year on July 17th for the Syfan 5k and Fun Run in support of My Sister's Place! ***Must be registered by July 5th to be guaranteed a shirt in your size. The Super Speeder 5K directly benefits our Shop with the Sheriff Children's Christmas program. This annual event is dedicated to help children in-need during the Christmas season. Please help us keep the spirit alive in children as we raise funds to help children in the Hall County community. HOW REGISTRATION WORKS The event is comprised of 24, 1-hour games in a row and is open to men's and women's teams of all ages and abilities. Every team that registers plays in at least one, 1-hour game and will be matched with an opposing team of similar age and abilities If you register as a dual-slot, your team will have the entire hour with no opposing team schedule, and choose how you wish to play for that hour.
