The fourth annual Charley Clayton Memorial Peep Festival will be held April 11 at Fairmont State University. It is our mission to honor the life and legacy of Charley through an annual celebration highlighting individuality, self-expression, and inclusion through a colorful and sweet springtime celebration. On April 10, we will host the Fairmont Memorial Walk.  The one-mile walk will kick off the 2026 Charley Clayton Memorial Peep Festival and was created to provide a meaningful community event to honor and remember loved ones and celebrate their lives.  The registration fee includes a t-shirt (deadline March 21) and benefits our annual scholarship for a Marion County senior. Big steps, little feet, sweet impact! Join local non-profit organization HONEY Bags Inc. at 9 AM on Saturday, April 18th for a 5k in Pleasant Valley with your family and friends. Participants can run or walk this 5k (road) course that begins at East Fairmont High School (EFHS). You will start on the EFHS campus then go downhill on Airport Road. You will then turn right at Crosswinds and run out then back to Airport Road past the municipal airport. You will turn left and loop around the Brickside Grille parking lot, then turn right and run Airport Road back to EFHS campus to finish. There will be rewards for the top 3 male and female finishers. We will post race results in appropriate age categories.   Kids under 12 are more than welcome to register for the 5k, or they can run in the 800m Kids Fun Run at 8:30 am. Join us for the Fifth Annual Kickin it for Katy 5K & 1.3 mile walk for suicide awareness. Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 25th, 2026, and be part of an amazing community event on the beautiful campus of Fairmont State University in Fairmont WV. Join Us for the Trail Day 5K Run & Walk!   Get ready to hit the trail for a fun and family-friendly event! The Trail Day 5K Run & Walk takes place on Saturday, May 2nd, in celebration of National Celebrate Trails Day at the stunning Prickett’s Fort State Park along the MCPARC rail trail. Starting at 9 AM, the scenic course will take runners and walkers towards the Meredith Tunnel, offering a beautiful and enjoyable experience for all.   This exciting event is hosted by the Fairmont State University Cycling Club to support their activities and is conducted in partnership with Marion County Parks and Recreation. The Fairmont Sprint and 5K Run are all held at Gomsrud Park, Fairmont on Saturday, June 21st, 2025.  There will not be an Olympic triathlon event. REMEMBER! The Youth Triathlon (kids ages 5-15) date is Friday, June 20, 2025. 5:15PM Race is located at the Fairmont Aquatic Park. ...................................................................... Registrations received by May 25, 2025 will be guaranteed a t-shirt by size requested. Youth Triathlon race day registration (Friday) from 4-4:30 p.m. Fairmont Aquatic Park. Packet Pick-Up (Sprint, Olympic, 5K run): Gomsrud Park Picnic Shelter Race Day from 7am-8am   SPRINT TRIATHLON: Sprint event distance is: .25 mile open water swim; 20k bike (12.5 miles) on flat county roads; 5k (3.1 miles) run through residential areas. It's a powerful morning of community, compassion, and movement—featuring a 5K run and a 2K walk to benefit the Union Rescue Mission. On October 3rd, we're hitting the streets of East Side Fairmont, WV, for a fun run that'll have you feeling good from start to finish. It's all about supporting the amazing work of Osiris Shriners! Osiris Shriners was founded over a century ago in Wheeling, WV, and supports the northern region of West Virginia. Osiris Shriners promote friendship and brotherhood and support the world’s greatest philanthropy - Shriners Children's. This course is fast, but don't be fooled—it's challenging enough to give you a great workout! We'll have a water stop around mile 2 to keep you hydrated and energized. Not a runner? No problem!
