Combat Boots to Running Shoes 5K Supporting Miss Veteran America & Final Salute Lace up and join us for the Combat Boots to Running Shoes 5K, a powerful event honoring the strength, resilience, and continued service of women veterans. This race supports Miss Veteran America, the nation’s premier competition celebrating the “Woman Beyond the Uniform,” and its beneficiary, Final Salute, an organization dedicated to providing safe and suitable housing for homeless women veterans and their children. For many women who have served, the transition from military life to civilian life can be filled with unseen battles. This 5K symbolizes that journey — from combat boots to running shoes — from active duty to advocacy, from service in uniform to service in community. This year our 5K Family Run/Walk will be in town at the Crossroads Adventure Playground, 1081 N Poplar Street. All proceeds of the Be Kind To Your Mind Run/Walk benefit Iris Clubhouse of Casper, a working community for adults with mental illness.
