DFW Run Clubs:  Carrollton Runner's Club & Mid-Cities Running Crew At the beginning of 2025, two DFW running clubs merged:  Carrollton Runners (aka CRC) and Mid-Cities Running (aka M-CRC) Between the two clubs, we now host over 100 days of running per year! Carrolton Runners Club WHAT:  CRC hosts low-cost races. CRC Club Runs are timed races on accurate courses. Everyone gets a bib, timing chip and refreshments, but the cost is super low! We give awards for the top performances, but we don't give out finisher's medals or Age Group awards.  3rd Sunday of the month 5K Prediction Race 5th Sunday of the month 1Mile & 5K You do not need to be a member to register for CRC races. This year, due to the City of Carrollton Health and Wellness Fair taking place in the Home Side parking lot, all general event parking for Kacie's Run and the Health and Wellness Fair will be in the Visitor Side parking lot, with entry from W. Live Like Josh

The Josh Waldrep Foundation is a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) started to honor Josh and raise awareness about the condition Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome, (CVS). The Foundation is proud to sponsor scholarships to the University of West Georgia, Carrollton High School, and donations towards finding a cure for CVS.   The Live Like Josh event is ready to host 2025 with a 5K hosted on the University of West Georgia Athletic complex. Join us at 6:00 pm at the Stadium Concourse to hear memories of Josh and know more about CVS. We invite all children (12 and under) to participate in the Touchdown Dash for Josh at 6 pm on the UWG Wolves football field. We will start the 5K and 1.1 mile walk from the University of West Georgia stadium home ticket booth at 6:30pm. The 5K will travel around the Athletic complex and showcase the stadium, the wolf statue and several other athletic fields. Come and run with us in the Ohio River valley! The General Butler State Resort Park is named for early American General William O. Butler of Kentucky, who fought in the War of 1812 and the Mexican-American War. The park was built on the grounds of the Butler family farm, which was begun by General Butler’s father, Percival Butler, who fought in the Revolutionary War. Still standing is the Butler-Turpin House, which was built in 1859 for Mary Eleanor Butler, niece of General Butler, and her husband Philip Turpin. Today, the Butler-Turpin House is a museum open for guided tours, featuring pieces from the family’s history. The Great West Georgia Donut Run Challenge

In honor of National Donut Day, West Georgia Track Club has whipped up the sweetest running challenge in the West Georgia area!  Here's the challenge: Run and/or walk as many "donuts" (Hobbs Farm loops) as you can in ONE HOUR. Simple, right? Oh, did we forget to mention the fun part? After each loop completed, the participant must eat an amazingly awesome, mini donut before setting out on another loop! The Kids TRYathlon is a community-centered youth athletic event that promotes physical fitness, confidence building and family engagement. Using the Lakeshore Natatorium, track and field facilities and bike paths, the TRYathlon is a multi-age, multi-skill experience for young people, ages 6-12. 11th Annual Kiwanis Bob Reeves Memorial 5K

Named in memory of an outstanding Kiwanian, Dr. Robert "Bob" Reeves, Bob, also known as Woody to his close friends, exemplified many great attributes of Kiwanis International. A club member for over 46 years, he served his community with much enthusiasm and benevolence. As a retired Professor of Physical Education with the University of West Georgia, fitness trainer, ballroom dance instructor, and Sunday School teacher, he was an active volunteer for many community, civic, and church related events and organizations.
