Boone, NC
US Road Running Races US Road Running races are built for runners and walkers who like friendly, low-pressure race days with just enough competition to keep things exciting. Our events are local, welcoming, and easy to jump into, whether you are chasing a PR, collecting another themed medal, working toward series points, or just getting outside with good people. Most races are small enough to feel personal but organized enough to feel official. You can expect a clear course, helpful race staff, finisher medals, results, and a relaxed community feel. Bring your fast shoes, your steady walking pace, your favorite running buddy, or your best “I signed up for this on purpose” smile. We will be glad to see you at the start line. A quick race-day note: because many US Road Running events are small local races, we normally have one or two staff members at each race. EMS is not stationed on site, and water stations are limited to the finish area at the end of each lap and at the race finish. Please plan for the weather, bring anything you may want between laps, and check in with race staff if you need help. View Race Course, Results, and Race Information on the US Road Running race page.

Miles with Mallory 2026

Boone, NC
In April 2025, our sister, Mallory Mayor, was struck by a car while leaving a music festival in Boone. She was rushed to the hospital with a brain bleed, skull fracture, and broken femur. Since the accident, Mallory has made incredible strides in her recovery. Every day, she continues to work extremely hard toward regaining the abilities she had before her injury. One of Mallory’s biggest challenges following her traumatic brain injury (TBI) is aphasia, a condition that affects the brain’s ability to communicate through speech and language. While Mallory is able to speak, intensive outpatient speech and language therapy could make a tremendous difference in her continued recovery. However, insurance will not cover the therapy because it is not considered “medically necessary.” Mallory has been accepted into a program that is recognized as one of the best in the country. This program could be a crucial step toward helping her regain her full communication abilities, but it comes with a significant financial cost. Join the race to support Mallory’s continued recovery! We are incredibly proud of how far she has come and all the hard work she has put into her healing. With your support, Mallory can continue receiving the therapy she needs to make meaningful progress in her recovery! Every donation, registration, share, and word of encouragement makes a difference. Thank you for helping us support Mallory on her journey to recovery!

High Country Turkey Trot 5K & 10K

Boone, NC
We are back on the Boone Greenway Trail for the 16th Annual High Country Turkey Trot! Choose from a 5K or 10K timed race or an untimed Fun Run/Walk. Taking place on Thanksgiving morning, The High Country Turkey Trot is open to competitive runners, casual joggers, walkers, and fun runners. Far from just a race, the event is fun for the entire family and includes a live DJ, photo-staging area, costumes, and a picnic shed full of food and hot drinks. NEW FOR 2026: We've updated the course route by reducing elevation gain and improving the terrain. That means less hill climbs and more stable footing! The 5K and 10K races will take you on a scenic trip over mixed terrain (gravel, grass, and paved) through the woods via The Greenway and Kennedy Trails. Official course map to revealed soon! The Fun Run/Walk will utilize all paved trails throughout the park - making it accessible to everyone, including leashed dogs, strollers, wagons, wheelchairs, and other mobility aids.  The High Country
