Come out and Run for Wellness on a beautiful Saturday at Hart Park. Run, walk, or crawl, everyone is welcome. Choose between 5k or the 1 mile. This event is open to the public but has special pricing for Kern High School District Staff and immediate family. (Please sign up by 4/6 to be guaranteed a t-shirt!) Medals will be awarded to the top 3 in each age group per gender for the 5k. We look forward to seeing you and your family for this fun event! Come join us for our 5th annual 5k fun run on Saturday, April 18th! Event held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. “Running for Faith to Build our Future” is a Fun Run 5k hosted by the MOMS at SEAS ministry of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church benefiting the church’s Building Fund. Enjoy an 8am 5K run start time leaving from the church, followed by a pancake breakfast hosted by the Knights of Columbus and LMF on the church’s back patio. **Bringing it back: Raffle baskets during breakfast! April 18th will be a day to involve the whole family in supporting the future of our church! Ride the River is a fun community bike ride for people of all ages. With distances of  20, 10, and 5 miles there is an event for every ability level. Flat tires? Squeaky brakes? Join this family-friendly 5K and run through Bakersfield Breakfast Rotary’s annual Thousand Flags Memorial Day weekend display. This awe-inspiring annual event showcases over 1,000 American flags on display at The Park at River Walk to honor those we have lost. There will be a 5K course and a one-mile memorial walk. The 5K course winds its way through the scenic flag adorned park and down the multi-use trail adjacent to the park, and is suitable for both runners and walkers. Proceeds will support the Thousand Flags event and other Bakersfield Breakfast Rotary community projects. The Foothill Cross Country Team is putting on a 5K race at Hart Park on October 31st. There will be 3 races taking place: a High School Girls Race, a High School Boys Race, and an All Ages Race. Every Person who signed up for the all ages race will receive a medal and a T-Shirt to commemorate the race. The top 10 for both High School races will also receive a medal. There will be food and drink vendors on location as well as a trunk or treat for the kids. Please bring your families out to participate in this fun-filled day!

Mind Over Miles is a community endurance event unlike a traditional race. Beginning at the top of each hour, participants have the opportunity to complete a 4.2-mile loop. When you finish, you'll have the remainder of the hour to rest, refuel, connect with others, or cheer on fellow participants before the next loop begins. You choose your challenge: Complete one loop (4.2 miles) Run several loops throughout the day Or take on the ultimate challenge by completing 12 loops for approximately 50 miles There are no expectations—only an invitation to show up, challenge yourself, and encourage those around you. Whether you're an experienced ultrarunner, training for your next race, walking with family, supporting a friend, or simply looking for a reason to get outside, there's a place for you at Mind Over Miles. Our mission is simple: Helping people find hope, purpose, and the strength to keep moving forward—one step at a time. This event exists to bring people together through movement while raising awareness for mental wellness, recovery, and the power of community. We will be hosting our 8th Annual Bakersfield Jingle Bell Run for Toys for Tots! The Jingle Bell Run will feature a Christmas designed Sweatshirts and Jingle Bells to all registered participants. The hope is to get each runner or walker to bring a new unwrapped toy and for doing so they will be awarded a Santa Hat!  Special Pricing for Kids 9 and Under (Does not include the virtual option), discount automatically applied at checkout.

The Probation Auxiliary County of Kern presents their 37th Annual 5K/10K Fog Run at Lake Ming in Bakersfield. This is a fun and family friendly 5K/10K race to support at-risk individuals in Kern County. Proceeds will also benefit the Kern County Probation Department's Helping Hands program. Helping Hands is a nonprofit organization, and their goal is to guide at risk youth towards success by removing barriers and equipping them with the basic needs. Together the two organizations provide scholarships, vocational training, mentoring, clothing, hygiene products, and other necessities.  We believe our programs leave a lasting impact on youth by removing barriers and increasing self-esteem, confidence, and drive to go to school. It is our hope to set up individuals for success and make our community a safer place. The race takes place on a beautiful scenic course overlooking beautiful mountains and lake views. Embrace the BHS Legacy and Join us for our 2nd Runnin' To The Rig 5k Run/Walk! Saturday, February 21st - Shot Gun Start at 8:30am and Check-in at 7:30am Runners Start on Morrow Field / Walkers Start on Griffith Field Stadium / Embrace the Legacy Tour meets at the Water Tower near the concessions stand at Griffith Field. Day of Race Registration 7am - 8am at Check-In Desk at Table on Morrow Field.  Cost is $40/pp We invite you to participate with us in this FUNdraising endeavor to build community and raise funds.
