The 2026 Cats & Bats 5K - Saturday, October 31, 2026     For 12 years, this has been the race of choice for your pre-Halloween fun! The famous Cats & Bats 5K is your spot for  #HalloweeninAberdeen SATURDAY, October 31st - 8:00 am start time.  USATF Certified Course - view map here Location: Festival Park, Aberdeen, MD   We are planning for a Group, In-Person 5K and also have a Virtual 5K component. The virtual component is in place for anyone who is non-local, will not be able to attend the live race, or is not comfortable racing in a group environment. The TOTALLY FREE Moving Mountains 5K for Adoption is Sunday, November 1, at 11:30am at Aberdeen Elementary School. 100 percent of race profits go to the Faithful Bible Church Adoption and Orphan Care Fund. The Faithful Bible Church Adoption and Orphan Care Fund supplies grants and scholarships for adopting families and the precious children they bring home. Since 2017, Faithful Bible Church has given away $32,098 in adoption and foster care grants, helping bring five children home and serving four others through medical and foster care assistance. Our goal is to raise $25,000 this year. Your support of this race literally changes and transforms lives. Registration for the Moving Mountains 5K is totally FREE! (You will register all runners below.) This is a family-friendly course, and runners and walkers of all ages, as well as strollers and mobility devices, are welcome! Donations, t-shirt and sweatshirt sales (please purchase either as an add-on to your registration or in our attached store) and sponsorships (both corporate and sponsorships of individual runners) are the only means we use to raise money for this fund. YOUR DONATIONS ARE PRICELESS. Registration closes October 30th. We will award prizes to the top male and female performers in multiple age categories. Merchandise sales are now closed. All t-shirts and hoodies can be picked up on Sunday, October 25, before or after church at Aberdeen Elementary School, or on the race day at the registration table. Before the turkey, the pie, and the football games, come out and move your feet with friends, family, and fellow community members. Register before November 12th to be guaranteed a long sleeve shirt! This event is all about fun, fitness, and community—it is not a race. There will be no timing or official results and no competitive pressure—just a casual morning trot to celebrate the holiday! We’ll have a 5K (3.1 mile) course that starts and finishes right at Shoe Science on Main Street. Runners, walkers, strollers, and families are all welcome. Feel free to dress festive—turkeys, pilgrims, and Thanksgiving-themed costumes encouraged! Join hundreds of Santas and other holiday characters for a fun run and/or walk through Wylie Park in Aberdeen, South Dakota. Santa suits are provided to participants 13 years of age and older as part of their registration packet. Running and/or walking in Santa suits is HIGHLY ENCOURAGED! Everyone of all ages and abilities are welcome and encouraged to participate. Registration is now open with early bird pricing available. On behalf of VFW Post 4490 in Aberdeen, Mississippi, we invite you to run with us for an exciting new community event—the First Annual Blue Bluff River Run to be held Saturday June 20th 2026. This 5K fun run/walk is more than just a race—it’s a mission. The Blue Bluff River Run is being organized to raise funds that directly support our post’s efforts to give back, including local charitable programs, veteran assistance initiatives, and scholarships established through the VFW. Every dollar raised helps us continue serving those who have served and invest in the future of our community.
