Join us for the 19th annual Haunted Half Marathon, Relay & 5K October 24th! Runners will enjoy seeing the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains of eastern Tennessee, this Halloween-themed race takes runners on a loop course through the small city of Cookeville, where runners and walkers will start the race on the campus of Tennessee Tech University. From the starting line near the intersection of North Dixie Avenue and B Street on the Tennessee Tech campus, runners head south on what is basically a clockwise loop through the city’s downtown and out into some of the more rural areas just outside town. Runners make their way through mostly city streets and retail shops in the first couple of miles and then head into more residential neighborhoods in the later miles. As mentioned above, the Haunted Half Marathon, Relay & 5K is open to both runners and walkers, provided they can reach the finish line within 3 hours — which means for half-marathon and relay teams they’ll need to maintain a pace of 13.8 minutes per mile or better. The race route will be closed after 3 hours, which means no police or ambulance services will be present on the road route. The finish line will stay open till 10:30 am. This requires a 13.8 minute-per-mile page or faster. Runners who don’t want to cover all 13.1 miles of the race themselves should know the race also features a three-person relay event. The first leg of the race is 4 miles, followed by the second leg (4.7 miles) and the third leg, which is 4.4 miles. If you prefer a 5K run, we have that too! 5K runners will start from the same start line and finish line, as well as the first mile of the half marathon. Entrants must be at least 12 years of age on the day of the race to participate in the half marathon or 10 years of age on the day of the race to participate in the 5k and have a guardian sign the race liability form. Race Weather & Climate Located along the Upper Cumberland Plateau of eastern Tennessee, about 80 miles east of Nashville and roughly 100 miles northwest of Knoxville, Cookeville typically sees mild to moderately warm weather in October, while rainfall totals average just over 3.4 inches for the month, making October the city’s driest month of the year. On race day (Oct. 24), the average low is 42ºF and the average high is 69ºF.

Secret City Half Marathon and 5K      Date: November 14, 2026 The half marathon route starts at the scenic Melton Lake Park peninsula.  Considered a great PR course!  Course runs along the beautiful Melton Lake then down by an operational quarry for a change of scenery. Continue along a serene tree-lined private road then wind through Oak Ridge.  Finish your race along the water's edge right back to the peninsula.  Course is USATF certified with certification # TN15066MS. The 5K race route starts and finishes at the Melton Lake Park peninsula.  The course follows the water's edge along Melton Lake to Elza Gate Park then double back down the walking trail to the peninsula.  A very scenic, easy,  and enjoyable 5K run. Clarksville’s signature race returns for its third year. The Clarksville Half Marathon, 5K, and 1-Mile Race takes runners through downtown streets and along a certified course offering scenic city views throughout. The 6th annual Ashland City Half-Marathon will take place on Saturday March 7th, 2026 in Ashland City (20 minutes west of Nashville). The pancake flat, USATF-certfied course will go from Riverbluff Park and then take you on the beautiful Bicentennial Greenway, returning you alongside the Cumberland River on Chapmansboro Road. This is a loop many of the faster runners in the Nashville area have been using for time trials and tempo runs and is about as flat as you can get without doing a boring out and back race. In an effort to be more inclusive, in 2025 the course will only be open for 3 hours (13:44/mile). But please do not enter unless you are 100% confident you can cover the entire course in under 3 hours.

Experience one of the fastest and most scenic half marathons in East Tennessee. The Little River Rush Half Marathon offers a unique point-to-point course through the peaceful back roads of Townsend, surrounded by breathtaking mountain views and free from the congestion of busier race locations. Starting at the Smoky Mountain Heritage Center, the course travels one direction to Heritage High School, showcasing over 600 feet of total descent and more than 200 feet of net downhill, making this a truly fast and rewarding race experience, It's really downhill, like actually, check the course profile down below! Hoist the colors and join us for the Talk Pirate to Me 5K/10K/Half Marathon, a swashbuckling adventure on the run celebrating International Talk Like a Pirate Day all month long. Whether you're a seasoned captain or a landlubber just looking for some fun, gather your crew and set sail for a race filled with pirate spirit, treasure, and plenty of "Arrr's!" Choose your quest—5K, 10K, or Half Marathon—and chart your course to the finish line. Every buccaneer who successfully walks the plank and crosses the finish line will earn a custom finisher medal worthy of any pirate's treasure chest. We're headed to Two Rivers Park in Nashville, TN for an 8:00 am start, and hitting the trail to celebrate the pirate in you. Come out dressed in your favorite pirate garb (and some running shoes), and we'll hit the trail instead of walking the plank. Awards will be presented in all three distances to the top three male and female finishers in our traditional five-year age groups, giving pirates of all ages a chance to claim their share of the booty.
