The Dirty Wookie 10K & 5K is a one-of-kind Halloween themed running event taking place in Downtown Reno featuring two unique courses and distances. Come in costume, if you'd like, and join a few thousand other runners/walkers for an unforgettable running experience through the city. The 10K course (new to 2026!) is Reno's only point-to-point 10K. Starting at Reno Running Company – LAKESIDE the course winds through Virginia Lake, beautiful West Reno neighborhoods, Idlewild Park, and finishes at J Resort’s Festival Grounds in downtown Reno. Parking at the 10K start is extremely limited, so runners are encouraged to park at the J Resort, and purchase a shuttle ticket ($10) to be transported to the start. NO shuttle service is provided back to the 10K start line after the race, so if you choose to drive yourself, please plan accordingly. Walkers are welcome to register for the 10K but please be aware of the 2 hour cut off for the course (19:21/mile pace). The 5K starts and finishes at J Resort’s Festival Grounds, and features a scenic out-and-back loop through the colorful paths of Idlewild Park. Walkers are very welcome and encouraged to join! Both the 10K and 5K will begin at 9:00 AM. Costume Contest! Around 10:30 AM, make sure you're near the podiums for the official Dirty Wookie costume contest! We will parade the eligible participants, then ask the crowd to vote for the favorite for a grand prize. Who will get the loudest cheer?! Transportation to the location will be available for participants. Each year at OMED, the AAOA hosts the A.T. Still fit for life Fun Run, a 5K walk/run with all proceeds going towards the AAOA Special Projects Grant Fund. Reno's Wobble Before You Gobble is the best Thanksgiving tradition for the whole family. Join us on Thanksgiving Morning, Thursday November 26th for a run/ walk/ wobble that kicks off your Thanksgiving morning festivities! The 2026 event will take place at Wingfield Park (2 South Arlington Ave. Reno, NV 89501) The 10K will start at 9am, followed by the 5K at 9:10am, and the 1 Mile Walk at 9:15am. EMS services will be provided by REMSA Only service dogs are allowed at this event because this is a sanctioned USATF race. Whether you're a seasoned captain or a landlubber just looking for some fun, gather your crew and set sail for a race filled with pirate spirit, treasure, and plenty of "Arrr's!" Choose your quest—5K, 10K, or Half Marathon—and chart your course to the finish line. Every buccaneer who successfully walks the plank and crosses the finish line will earn a custom finisher medal worthy of any pirate's treasure chest. We're headed to the Cornerstone Park in Henderson for an 8:00 am start, and hitting the trail to celebrate the pirate in you. Come out dressed in your favorite pirate garb (and some running shoes), and we'll hit the trail instead of walking the plank. Awards will be presented in all three distances to the top three male and female finishers in our traditional five-year age groups, giving pirates of all ages a chance to claim their share of the booty. Get ready for a spine-tingling race experience at the Running Scared 5K & 13K—where thrills, chills, and fast times collide! Whether you’re brave enough to tackle the 5K or daring enough to conquer the 13K, this Halloween-themed event delivers a fun and festive atmosphere perfect for runners of all levels. Costumes are encouraged, so come dressed to impress (or frighten) as you take on a course filled with seasonal spirit. We will gather at Mountain Edge Regional Park in Las Vegas, NV. All athletes will receive a long-sleeve race shirt—perfect for those crisp fall mornings—and a custom finisher medal to commemorate their accomplishment. For those looking to push their limits, take on the Deadly Double by completing both the 5K and the 13K. It’s the ultimate test of endurance and Halloween courage! Competitive runners will have plenty to race for. Awards will be presented to the Top Three Male and Female Overall finishers in both the 5K and 13K, as well as the Top Three in Masters, Grand Masters, and Senior Masters Overall categories. In addition, the top three athletes in each of the traditional five-year age groups will receive awards in both race distances. For those taking on the Deadly Double, special recognition will be given to the Top Three Male and Female finishers who complete both races. The 3 State Marathon has four distances. Full Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K and 5K. This race starts in Utah and runs along Arizona and finishes in Nevada. This is a great fast downhill course with around 3500 feet of decline over 26.2 miles. Views on this race are mostly desert landscape with Joshua Trees and crossing over a bridge. This race is all about hitting three states with speed.
