Crozet Trails Crew 5K/10K Trail Run + Family Fun Run

Crozet, VA
The race is a major fundraiser for the Crozet Trails Crew, a grassroots community organization whose mission is to simply connect Crozet and Western Albemarle with trails and greenways. All registered participants will get a race t-shirt and pancakes at the pancake breakfast! Improved timing this year for the 5K and 10K. The 5K course is limited to 250 participants! The race starts in Crozet Park (on festival grounds by pavilions) and continues on the Crozet trail to the east of the Park (rustic trail, so plenty of roots, rocks, and ruts), and finishes back at Crozet Park. Prizes will be awarded for overall male and female: first, second and third (first place male and female get a bridge named in their honor!) The 10K Trail Race is limited to 75 participants! It loops by Lickinghole basin, crossing Lickinghole creek (you might get your feet wet) we're currently fundraising for a 50 foot bridge to connect the trails here. If you can please donate to help with the bridge. The race goes out by Chesterfield Landing and back. The Family Fun Run is a shorter option that still gets you out on the trails. The course starts in Crozet Park and goes by the dog park. After the bridge, turn left on a recent extension of trail (~.75-mile) and back to the park. This section will eventually connect the trail to downtown Crozet. Kids under 7 years old can participate in the Family fun run for free if they are accompanied by a registered participant. Well behaved, leashed dogs are also welcome. Join us for a post race trails fest from 11am - 1pm at the finish. Including pancake breakfast- made from scratch! We'll have live music, Starr Hill beer, Henley's cider, coffee from Yellow Mug. All of the proceeds go to Crozet Trails Crew. On-site registration and packet pick-up takes place at Crozet Park on race day at the Crozet Park Pavillion from starting at 9am until 9:45am. There will also be packet pick-up Thursday, October 22 at Starr Hill in Crozet from 6:30- 830pm. IF YOU WANT TO SWITCH RACES please come to Thursday packet pickup to let us know.

Turkey Trot Trail 10K & 5K

Chesterfield, VA
As autumn draws toward its quiet end and the forests stand in their bronze and fading gold, the First Responder Turkey Trot Trail 10K is swiftly approaching. It is set forth for those who bear the weight of duty to serve their community - firefighters and law enforcement officers - to gather together to test their physical and mental fortitude. The trail winds through old woods and over steady rises, shaped by years and weather. The 5K offers a swift, purposeful course for those seeking a sharp test of strength. The 10K carries runners deeper into the terrain, demanding endurance, discipline, and resolve. Here, in the clear air of late fall, first responders take to the path to measure themselves, strengthen their bodies, and stand alongside others who know the demands of service. Each mile is a quiet testament to your resilience.

Gobbler 5K, 10K, & 13.1M at Colonial Heights, VA (47)

Colonial Heights, VA
US Road Running Races US Road Running races are built for runners and walkers who like friendly, low-pressure race days with just enough competition to keep things exciting. Our events are local, welcoming, and easy to jump into, whether you are chasing a PR, collecting another themed medal, working toward series points, or just getting outside with good people. Most races are small enough to feel personal but organized enough to feel official. You can expect a clear course, helpful race staff, finisher medals, results, and a relaxed community feel. Bring your fast shoes, your steady walking pace, your favorite running buddy, or your best “I signed up for this on purpose” smile. We will be glad to see you at the start line. A quick race-day note: because many US Road Running events are small local races, we normally have one or two staff members at each race. EMS is not stationed on site, and water stations are limited to the finish area at the end of each lap and at the race finish. Please plan for the weather, bring anything you may want between laps, and check in with race staff if you need help. View Race Course, Results, and Race Information on the US Road Running race page.

BRADASS 10k

Virginia Beach, VA
Here's the story behind this race: Bradlee LaMontagne's life was cut way too short at the age of 21 on December 10, 2020. He was tragically killed by a negligent boat driver in Cozumel, Mexico. He was a Junior at Johns Hopkins and also the Captain of the wrestling team. He loved wrestling. He started wrestling in elementary school with Great Neck Wrestling Club and continued on until college. He was two time captain of the Cox Wrestling team and a state finalist and two time state placer, region champion, and had over 120 varsity wins. He was an NCAA All American Scholar at Johns Hopkins placing in the region. Bradlee has 4 siblings and many family and friends. He was loving, kind, passionate and hard working. He had the kind of energy and positivity that would fill the room and bring a smile to everyone around them. He will be forever missed and loved. One Thanksgiving of note, 2019, Bradlee wanted to enjoy Thanksgiving just like everyone else. Except when you're a wrestler, as some of you know, wrestlers cut weight so it's not as easy to just eat and lay around like most of us get to do. Around the holidays it's pretty torturous especially when everyone is eating until their buttons pop off. Well, Brad wanted to eat and eat big, so he did what anyone would do, he ran 15.04 miles Thanksgiving morning😳!! Let me say it again, 15.04 MILES JUST TO EAT💪 That is BRADASS! Let me preface this by saying, this is not 15 miles and it's not Thanksgiving morning. But it is 6.2 miles and is in Seashore State Park (or First Landing as it is now called), similar to where he ran. I think he would be proud of all of us, if we could do half of what he did (or a little less than half) to raise money for wrestlers' scholarships and to celebrate his life and legacy.

Frozen Toe 10k

Roanoke, VA
The Chestnut Ridge Loop is a great loop trail that is easily accessed from downtown. People use this trail throughout the year and join it with other trails in the area to train for many of the races throughout the valley. Come out and enjoy this event and kick off the New Year with a healthy activity. Walkers are welcome. The Chestnut Ridge Loop Trail is a 5.6 mile challenging single track trail that loops around the Roanoke Mountain Campground. This is a great trail with a little bit of everything. It is a fast and flowy trail that holds up well to the winter weather and is perfect for a January trail event. We are very fortunate to be able to use the New Hope Christian Church as our Event Headquarters. They have offered us a nice facility close to the loop trail with plenty of parking. In the event of inclement weather, that cancels our National Park Service permit, we’ll have the race the following Saturday, 1/17/26, at Moneta Park (see https://mountainjunkies.net/frozen-toe-3-0-at-moneta-park/)

Medal Madness 5K & 10K, Midlothian, VA (05)

Midlothian, VA

Half Donkey (Half/10k/5k)

Alexandria, VA
Saturday, March 6, 2027 · Jones Point Park, Alexandria, VA Race in the morning, parade in the afternoon. All three distances start and finish at Jones Point Park, under the Woodrow Wilson Bridge, and run out and back on the paved Mount Vernon Trail along the Potomac. The course is flat and fast, with the river beside you most of the way, and there are no road closures and no traffic to cross. Finish, collect your medal, and walk about a mile north into Old Town for the Alexandria St. Patrick's Day Parade, which steps off at noon. Bring your family and make a day of it. Every runner is tracked live on Geo.Racing, so your people can wait in Old Town and know exactly when to head down to the finish. Start times: Half marathon at 8:00 AM, 10K at 8:30 AM, 5K at 9:00 AM. Packet pickup opens at 7:00 AM at the park. The starts are staggered so every distance finishes well before the parade. Every entry includes: a race shirt, a finisher medal, chip timing and results, aid stations on the trail, and live tracking. Awards go to the top three men and women at each distance. Good to know: walkers are welcome at every distance; half marathon walkers should plan to finish by 3:00 PM. Parking at Jones Point Park is limited and Old Town fills up early on parade day, so carpool or come by bike. The trail stays open to others, so keep right and pass on the left. Jones Point Park, 1 Jones Point Dr, Alexandria, VA 22314. Presented by Old Dominion Racing.

Mineshaft 10k

Buchanan, VA
This race uses part of the Hellgate 100k course (miles 47-52 but in reverse, which is, by far the better direction).  It’s a great backcountry section of the Glenwood Horse Trail that goes between Bobletts Gap Road and the Bearwallow Trailhead.  Due to parking limitations, this event will be capped at 100 vehicles and we’ll be shuttling racers to the start, 4.1 miles away. The course will climb approximately 1 mile on a dirt road before climbing, steeply for .3 miles, onto the Glenwood Horse Trail.  You will be on the GHT for the remaining 5 miles to the finish.  This is a great trail that travels past many old mines.  It’s an up and down route until the last 1.5 miles that will have you screaming down one of the best sections of trail.  Beware the rock gardens at the 5 mile mark of the course. Make sure you carpool when you can and park closely to the person next to you.  The park has limited parking. * In the event of inclement weather, this race may be run as an out and back.
