🏃‍♂️ NEW YEAR’S DAY 2027 5K RUN/WALK Presented by Peninsula Track Club & York High School Cross Country / Track & Field Friday, January 1, 2027 | 10:00 AM NEW LOCATION: York County McReynolds Athletic Complex (MAC) 412 Sports Way, Yorktown, VA 23692 HAPPY NEW YEAR! NEW YEAR, NEW LOCATION, SAME GREAT TRADITION! Kick off 2027 with a morning of movement, community, and celebration! The Peninsula Track Club and York High School Cross Country / Track & Field teams invite you to our annual New Year’s Day 5K Run/Walk—this year at our new home, York County’s McReynolds Athletic Complex! We’re excited to work with York County Parks and Recreation and the MAC team to bring this New Year’s Day tradition to Yorktown. Their support helps us create a welcoming event where runners, walkers, families, and friends can celebrate a fresh start together. Whether you’re chasing a fast finish, taking your first steps toward a new goal, or enjoying a walk with friends, there’s a place for you at the starting line. Runners, walkers, and strollers are welcome! Course judges will be on-site to verify performances in the walker division. Every entry supports our student-athletes. All proceeds benefit York High School Cross Country and Track & Field, helping fund equipment, uniforms, and meet expenses. 🗓 EVENT SCHEDULE 9:00–9:50 AM: Bib pickup and race-day registration 10:00 AM: Race starts at the entrance to the MAC Approximately 11:00 AM: Awards ceremony Bib Pickup, Registration & Parking: Near Fields 1–4. Take the first left after entering the complex to access parking. Additional parking at fields 5, 6 & 7. 🏅 AWARDS Overall: Top three male and female finishers Age Groups: Top three male and female finishers in each group: 19 & Under • 20–29 • 30–39 • 40–49 • 50–59 • 60–69 • 70–79 • 80+ Walker Division: Top three male and female walkers 👕 RACE SHIRTS Register by December 1, 2026, to guarantee your race shirt! After this date, shirts will be limited and are not guaranteed. 💻 REGISTRATION Online registration closes at noon on December 30, 2026. Race-day registration is available from 9:00–9:50 AM at the bib pickup area near Fields 1–4. Race-day entry fee: $50, payable in cash or through RunSignup.
