OWLS Fort Macon 5K Trail Run

Join us on Saturday, April 11th, 2026 for the OWLS Fort Macon 5K Trail Run!  The Fort Macon trail run is cross country style surfaces with moderate elevation. Trail is both wooded and full sun with footbridge crossings and views of Beaufort Inlet, Bogue Sound and Atlantic Ocean throughout course. Who We Are:Outer Banks Wildlife Shelter, Inc (OWLS) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) wildlife shelter where injured, sick, and orphaned native North Carolina wildlife is cared for in a professional and compassionate manner. Our mission is to rehabilitate and release the thousands of animals admitted to our clinic each year and to teach fellow North Carolinians how to responsibly and peacefully coexist with wildlife. OWLS has all state and federal permits required to legally care for wild animals. OWLS receives no county, state or federal funding and relies on the donations from the public, corporate and foundation supporters to achieve our mission.
