The Tolono Twilight Trek 5K Run / Walk is part of a long Tolono Fun Days tradition. We will have the 5K Run / Walk beginning Friday evening at 6:00 pm at West Side Park in Tolono, IL. Registration is $30 until May 31st which will include a t-shirt, after that date registration will be $35 with no option to select a t-shirt during registration. There may be an option to get a shirt on race day for those who were unable to request a t-shirt during registration, but this is subject to availability and there is no guarantee of a shirt. Prior to the race we will be offering a Kiddie 1K Fun Run beginning at 5:30 pm at the same location. This is a great event whether you are a novice runner looking to run your first 5k, or a seasoned competitor looking to beat your personal best time. Runners and walkers of all abilities are welcome to participate. The course consists of flat roadways and paths that wind through picturesque Krape Park. The race is also part of the Rockford Road Runners circuit. All pre-registered participants will receive an event T-shirt. Starting in the parking lot near mini golf and the baseball field, along Yellow Creek, past the Krape Park waterfall, and twin caves, over two scenic bridges then out the tree lined south entrance of the park and return. Race Date: Saturday, June 27, 2026 at 8:00 AM Join us for a 5K Run, 1 Mile Walk and Kids Dash on the main runways and taxiways at Chicago Executive Airport in Wheeling, Illinois. The 5K course is USATF Certified, and chip timed. Hang out after your event for podium awards, music, food, giveaways and kids' activities. Set on the beautiful streets of west-suburban Elmhurst, the race starts and finishes at Elmhurst University across from historic Wilder Park. We also have a fun Kids 1K (ages 5-12). Featuring a 4.5-mile run and a 2-mile walk/run.  The courses are flat and take place in town, with the 4.5-mile route venturing out/back on a country road.  There will be a water stop on the 4.5-mile route that will be passed twice. It's time for Paxton's annual 5K run! Now with electronic signup AND timing! Our race will benefit the Coins for Kids Masonic charity. So come out and run, bring some change for the bucket, and let's have a great race day! We have some exciting changes this year. Including our all electronic signup and timing, we are going to be able to filter out race results by gender and age group, so everyone can see where they stack up! Registration will be $35 for early bird registration before May 1st and $40 after May 1st up until race day, July 4th. Race day registration starts at 7:00 AM at Pells Park in Paxton, with the race starting at 8:00. The cutoff to get a t-shirt will be registration by June 19th. The course will remain the same as last year.

The race starts at 7AM sharp.  Course closes at 8:30AM (18:00/mile) The race originated in 1985 as the Intercity 10K. After two years the race was changed to a 5 mile run. For years, the 5 mile run was a little longer than 5 miles. In 1993, the Lake Run club began organizing the event and made the 5 mile course accurate.
