Come join us on Saturday, June 6th for the 2nd Annual "Princeton Mile" road race! Certified Course!  IL26001NM The race will take place on Princeton’s historic Main Street, starting at the Apollo Theater and ending at Rotary Park, just in time to enjoy live music, food, and drinks at Rotary Club of Princeton's 5th Annual Shrimpfest. The course is a straight line, fully paved city street. If you are looking to set a personal best time for a mile, this would be the place to do it. The course has been certified, and the race will be chip timed. The first race will feature “elite” runners who will be competing for a $1000 prize which will be awarded to the first male and female finisher. Both male and female second place finishers will receive $750 and third place $500. In order to participate in the elite race, male runners must be able to run a mile under 4:30 minutes, and female runners must be able to run a mile under 5:30 minutes. CASA is hosting its 5th annual Color Run event on June 6, 2026! Bring your family and friends to this fun, family-friendly event at Sycamore Middle School (no pets, please). Walk, jog or sprint - anything is fine so long as you have fun! There will be a post-race celebration with music, snacks and water. All proceeds from the event support CASA DeKalb County's advocacy of children from DeKalb County who have experienced abuse and neglect.  Registration fee is $30 for ages 13+ and includes a t-shirt and color packet and $20 for ages 5-12 and includes a t-shirt and color packet. Welcome to the Central Illinois Summer Trail Series! The 1st race in this series will take place at Kinsey Park in Peoria, IL. It is following the 4.16 mile trail loop that is used in the "Yellowbrick Backyard Ultra" that is hosted on the course the very next day by Sophie Russell (If you've never heard of a backyard--- you should check it out!)! This is a great way to get exposure to trails, and also learn a little bit about the local ultramarathon community.  The course offers hills, plenty of runnable sections, and some Wizard of Oz themed stretches to bring some joy to the grind!  Elevation gain for this loop is approximately 240’.

Corey was an avid runner, earning his varsity letter in cross country and track all four years at St. Joseph-Ogden High School. The annual Freedom Bicycle Ride offers a 18.65 KM route in Chicago.  The virtual Freedom Bicycle Ride offers an 18.65 Mile challenge to be completed between June 14th through June 19th. Lace Up for Parks, Trails and Open Space at the 1st annual 5K run & Walk.  Adventurously enjoy a a 5K run through the trails at Heritage Park in Homer Glen. The event will be a fun filled, family friendly race for competitive runners, recreational athletes and kids.  The course will be run on the trails  at Heritage Park in Homer Glen.   The course is being developed.  It will be run on the trails at the park and be 5K (3.1 Miles) with multiple laps.  Part of the course may be run on grass too. A Nighttime Run/Walk to Benefit Broken Together and the Pontiac Elks Lodge 1019 Veterans Fund Race around the golf course at The Oaks at River's Edge in Pontiac, IL at night in this 5K Run / 1.5 Mile Walk.  There will be a Flag Day ceremony at 7:00pm and the race will start at 9:00pm.  After the race there will be an awards ceremony, including music on the patio.  Food and drinks will be available for purchase. All 5K and 1.5 mile participants will get a t-shirt and glow necklaces.  All 5K participants will also get a finishers medal.
