The Tri-Shark Classic Triathlon and Duathlon is the Bloomington-Normal area's premier Triathlon/Duathlon event. This Sprint Triathlon/Duathlon course boasts a flat, fast course through Comlara Park and surrounding areas.

Giant Summer Run is the second event in the Historic Highway Hustle Series, a three-race celebration honoring the legacy of America’s Mother Road. The Virginia BBQ is a small town festival with the support of a dashing community. To go along with our race, Virginia BBQ will have a pageant, vendors, parade, carnival rides, and tons of entertainment from June 6-8.  The Virginia Cross Country Team will be hosting this exciting event. Come join us on Saturday, June 6th for the 2nd Annual "Princeton Mile" road race! Certified Course!  IL26001NM The race will take place on Princeton’s historic Main Street, starting at the Apollo Theater and ending at Rotary Park, just in time to enjoy live music, food, and drinks at Rotary Club of Princeton's 5th Annual Shrimpfest. The course is a straight line, fully paved city street. If you are looking to set a personal best time for a mile, this would be the place to do it. The course has been certified, and the race will be chip timed. The first race will feature “elite” runners who will be competing for a $1000 prize which will be awarded to the first male and female finisher. Both male and female second place finishers will receive $750 and third place $500. In order to participate in the elite race, male runners must be able to run a mile under 4:30 minutes, and female runners must be able to run a mile under 5:30 minutes. Mended little hearts is a national organization that supports children whom have congenital heart defects. We take bravery bags to local children’s hospitals as well. The Rockford Fire Department welcomes you to participate in the 22nd Annual Rockford Fire Department 911 - 3K Run/Walk.  Join the fun and challenge yourself, family, or friends at this incredible event. This event was formed to bring fire prevention and emergency medical education to our community.  The numbers 9-1-1 are an iconic symbol of emergency services across the nation.  It also holds special significance following the events of September 11, 2001.  We honor the memory of that day with the race's start time 9:11am.   The Rockford Fire Department utilizes many training aids to provide fire and medical education to our community. CASA is hosting its 5th annual Color Run event on June 6, 2026! Bring your family and friends to this fun, family-friendly event at Sycamore Middle School (no pets, please). Walk, jog or sprint - anything is fine so long as you have fun! There will be a post-race celebration with music, snacks and water. All proceeds from the event support CASA DeKalb County's advocacy of children from DeKalb County who have experienced abuse and neglect.  Registration fee is $30 for ages 13+ and includes a t-shirt and color packet and $20 for ages 5-12 and includes a t-shirt and color packet. Welcome to the Central Illinois Summer Trail Series! The 1st race in this series will take place at Kinsey Park in Peoria, IL. It is following the 4.16 mile trail loop that is used in the "Yellowbrick Backyard Ultra" that is hosted on the course the very next day by Sophie Russell (If you've never heard of a backyard--- you should check it out!)! This is a great way to get exposure to trails, and also learn a little bit about the local ultramarathon community.  The course offers hills, plenty of runnable sections, and some Wizard of Oz themed stretches to bring some joy to the grind!  Elevation gain for this loop is approximately 240’.

Join us in celebrating the life and memory of Corey S. Thompsen – a beloved husband, family member, friend, and Illinois State Trooper who passed away in the line of duty at 28 years old. Corey was an avid runner, earning his varsity letter in cross country and track all four years at St. Joseph-Ogden High School. He competed for both Western Illinois University and Danville Area Community College. The Trooper Thompsen Memorial 5k will be a fitting event to carry on Corey's love of running and community. Celebrate 2025 with a bicycling odyssey through Bronzeville. The annual Freedom Bicycle Ride offers a 18.65 KM route in Chicago.  The virtual Freedom Bicycle Ride offers an 18.65 Mile challenge to be completed between June 14th through June 19th. Lace Up for Parks, Trails and Open Space at the 1st annual 5K run & Walk.  Adventurously enjoy a a 5K run through the trails at Heritage Park in Homer Glen. The event will be a fun filled, family friendly race for competitive runners, recreational athletes and kids.  The course will be run on the trails  at Heritage Park in Homer Glen.   The course is being developed.  It will be run on the trails at the park and be 5K (3.1 Miles) with multiple laps.  Part of the course may be run on grass too. We also offer a simple kids race (< 10 years old).  Each kid running will get swag too! Our goal is to promote local parks, trails and open space.  Proceeds will benefit the Homer Glen Community in Harmony and Nature a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization.

A Nighttime Run/Walk to Benefit Broken Together and the Pontiac Elks Lodge 1019 Veterans Fund Race around the golf course at The Oaks at River's Edge in Pontiac, IL at night in this 5K Run / 1.5 Mile Walk.  There will be a Flag Day ceremony at 7:00pm and the race will start at 9:00pm.  After the race there will be an awards ceremony, including music on the patio.  Food and drinks will be available for purchase. Hosted by the Metro Milers running club, the Route 66 10K features as part of the City of Edwardsville's Route 66 Festival. The festival and race are held in Edwardsville's City Park on the same Saturday as the festival every year in June.  As of the best races in the Midwest, the Route 66 10K is regularly the RRCA's Championship 10K those years it is eligible. This event is tailored to be enjoyed by all who participate as runners, walkers, and volunteers. Being a community-oriented event, a portion of the race budget is dedicated every year to benefit local not-for-profit organizations, and proceeds are used to promote physical fitness and activity in the Metro East. Y NINJA is a fun Obstacle Course Run for kids. All fees are per person. There will be a variety of inflatable and constructed obstacles across the grounds of Kerasotes YMCA. There will be wet obstacles near the end of the course so dress appropriately. There are options to run or walk the 5K on an accessible route so everyone can join in the fun. The day starts with a Fun Run for kids ages 9 and under. Get a team of co-workers, family and friends together and join the Team Challenge. A minimum of 5 runners/walkers per team. The finish times of the top five runners from each team will be combined. The team with the lowest combined score (time) will receive top honors. If you’re running/walking, ask others to join your Team and collect donations. Welcome Red Wagon Runners This is our 9th year and we continue to improve it a little more every year. The in person 5k and a 1 mile races will be timed and there are also virtual options ranging from the 5K distance up to the full marathon distance. With your 5k race registration and/or virtual registration, you will receive a finishers medal! We can not stop fighting for cures for cancer. As Danny Thomas said, "No kid should die in the dawn of life." No family should have to worry about bills or whether there is a cure or not for their child! Our past participants say “ it’s a Great Beginners Triathlon, with Super Volunteers and free children’s activities to entertain your family while you race!” Triathletes will swim 350 yards in the seven-lane pool. Participants will swim one lap in each lane ducking under the lane marker to transfer to the next lane. Once the swim is complete, participants will exit the pool and head to the bike corral for the start of the 17-mile country road open course which takes place in Winnebago & Boone Counties. Triathletes will finish in the bike corral and begin the 3.1 run on the Campus trails which are a mix of blacktop & crushed limestone sections. We will also be collaborating with Its Race Time as well to make it a successful timed event. We will also have a coffee/food truck and bathrooms along the route. Kicking off at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 19, the Firefly 3K offers a fun fitness challenge and a chance to enjoy stunning sunset views at The Morton Arboretum. The Firefly 3K course will follow the main paved road on the Arboretum's East Side, moving through the Arboretum’s tree and plant collections, and down Frost Hill. The course is relatively flat and well-suited for runners, walkers, and wheelchair users of all experience levels. Virtual Participation Participants can run the Firefly 3K at the Arboretum or participate virtually by completing the course distance at another location and logging the results online.
