Corey was an avid runner, earning his varsity letter in cross country and track all four years at St. Joseph-Ogden High School. He competed for both Western Illinois University and Danville Area Community College. The Trooper Thompsen Memorial 5k will be a fitting event to carry on Corey's love of running and community. You're invited to Woodard Family Park for the race, touch-a-truck, face painting, food trucks, 50/50 drawing, and raffles. Proceeds and donations will go to the Trooper Corey S. Hosted by the Metro Milers running club, the Route 66 10K features as part of the City of Edwardsville's Route 66 Festival. The festival and race are held in Edwardsville's City Park on the same Saturday as the festival every year in June.  As of the best races in the Midwest, the Route 66 10K is regularly the RRCA's Championship 10K those years it is eligible. This event is tailored to be enjoyed by all who participate as runners, walkers, and volunteers. Being a community-oriented event, a portion of the race budget is dedicated every year to benefit local not-for-profit organizations, and proceeds are used to promote physical fitness and activity in the Metro East. Celebrate 2025 with a bicycling odyssey through Bronzeville. The annual Freedom Bicycle Ride offers a 18.65 KM route in Chicago.  The virtual Freedom Bicycle Ride offers an 18.65 Mile challenge to be completed between June 14th through June 19th. The live route will travel through historic Bronzeville.  Route can be viewed and downloaded at the links below Route: TBA Route will may be slightly different based on road conditions during that time but similar. A Nighttime Run/Walk to Benefit Broken Together and the Pontiac Elks Lodge 1019 Veterans Fund Race around the golf course at The Oaks at River's Edge in Pontiac, IL at night in this 5K Run / 1.5 Mile Walk.  There will be a Flag Day ceremony at 7:00pm and the race will start at 9:00pm.  After the race there will be an awards ceremony, including music on the patio.  Food and drinks will be available for purchase. All 5K and 1.5 mile participants will get a t-shirt and glow necklaces.  All 5K participants will also get a finishers medal. If you are unable to participate in this year’s 5K/Fun Run, you can still Support the Cause or you can purchase a gift registration for a runner or walker who is unable to afford the fee. There are options to run or walk the 5K on an accessible route so everyone can join in the fun. The day starts with a Fun Run for kids ages 9 and under. Get a team of co-workers, family and friends together and join the Team Challenge. A minimum of 5 runners/walkers per team. The finish times of the top five runners from each team will be combined. Welcome Red Wagon Runners This is our 9th year and we continue to improve it a little more every year. The in person 5k and a 1 mile races will be timed and there are also virtual options ranging from the 5K distance up to the full marathon distance. Lace Up for Parks, Trails and Open Space at the 1st annual 5K run & Walk.  Adventurously enjoy a a 5K run through the trails at Heritage Park in Homer Glen. The event will be a fun filled, family friendly race for competitive runners, recreational athletes and kids.  The course will be run on the trails  at Heritage Park in Homer Glen.   The course is being developed.  It will be run on the trails at the park and be 5K (3.1 Miles) with multiple laps.  Part of the course may be run on grass too. We also offer a simple kids race (< 10 years old).  Each kid running will get swag too! Our goal is to promote local parks, trails and open space.  Proceeds will benefit the Homer Glen Community in Harmony and Nature a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization.

Kicking off at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 19, the Firefly 3K offers a fun fitness challenge and a chance to enjoy stunning sunset views at The Morton Arboretum. The Firefly 3K course will follow the main paved road on the Arboretum's East Side, moving through the Arboretum’s tree and plant collections, and down Frost Hill. The course is relatively flat and well-suited for runners, walkers, and wheelchair users of all experience levels. Our Local Firefighters Union is in place to protect and provide for the citizens of Lincoln. This event will support an emergency fund for our members. This fund will assist with gas cards, and meals.

The Tolono Twilight Trek 5K Run / Walk is part of a long Tolono Fun Days tradition. We will have the 5K Run / Walk beginning Friday evening at 6:00 pm at West Side Park in Tolono, IL. Registration is $30 until May 31st which will include a t-shirt, after that date registration will be $35 with no option to select a t-shirt during registration. There may be an option to get a shirt on race day for those who were unable to request a t-shirt during registration, but this is subject to availability and there is no guarantee of a shirt. Prior to the race we will be offering a Kiddie 1K Fun Run beginning at 5:30 pm at the same location. In lieu of a registration fee, we will be accepting monetary donations or non-perishable food items for the Kiddie 1K Fun Run. All donations will be disseminated to a local food pantry.
