The Westmont Park District has partnered with the local nonprofit People’s Resource Center (PRC) so that proceeds from the race can benefit neighbors in need, right here in our community. As a partner in the community, PRC helps to meet neighbors’ basic needs such as food, shelter, and clothing assistance services. In addition, PRC provides job, computer, and literacy training programs and art empowerment classes to help neighbors in need here in DuPage County. The Springfield Bicycle Club is excited to renew our popular Sangamon Gravel Series, and rebrand as the Thunder Road Gravel tour!  Last year we brought you all together for a series of rides around Springfield.  This year, we're expanding the series to a wider region!  Join us for a series of rides from May through August and explore what the central Illinois has to offer when you venture off of the beaten path. Ride specifics are TBD, but expect something in the ballpark of 30 and 60 mile options with a convenience store stop in the middle.  After each ride, we'll have an optional takeover of a local brewery/bar/restaurant. This is a no-cost series, so there will be no SAG offered. As a gravel rider, you're probably already self-sufficient enough to fix a flat or minor mechanical on the road and if you're not, make some friends out there! But that's just the basic highlights. Abe's Army is a 12 week program to get runners and walkers of all abilities to their best finish at Abe's Amble 5k/10k in August.  You must be a SRRC member to join, the option to join the club is included in this registration. The Herrinfesta Road Races has a long history of families and friends coming together on Memorial Day to have fun, to suffer in the heat for a few miles. If you have never ran it before then you should come join us for a really fun time. With one of the fastest courses around, runners can come to Herrin and shoot for a new PR. This is a family friendly event with a few race options. The 10k run, the 5K walk, the Park Avenue Mile, and the kids mile. Ambitious runners can even sign up for both the 10k and the mile.

Nestled in the Shawnee National Forest, Giant City State Park is a premier destination for hiking, lodging, and camping in southern Illinois. We are now proud to offer a premier trail (heavy) ½ marathon and 40k primarily utilizing the Red Cedar Trail.  The course will consist mostly of single track, but will have some gravel road connectors, horse trails, fields, and less than a mile of paved road connectors. The trail varies from very technical to runnable in sections, boasting over 1800 feet of elevation gain (one half-marathon loop).  Also, expect the possibility of getting your feet wet in several creek crossings, rain dependent!  As an incentive to our teen and cross country runners, they will be capped at a $40 entry to the half-marathon.  We want to encourage our youth to run the trails in southern Illinois.  Also, the t-shirt is now an add-on instead of an automatic upcharge for those who wish to forgo a race shirt.  (If you change your mind, there should be some extra at packe

The Little Village Rotary Club presents the 6th Annual Carrera por paz, or Race for Peace, a community 5K Run/Walk Event. This event's objective is to promote anti-violence by supporting youth programs in Chicago’s Little Village and surrounding communities. Proceeds of this race will be invested into the community in the form of renewable grants, youth development, and job training. Race for Peace will have both competitive and non-competitive 5K in-person events. Only the competitive 5K in-person event will qualify runners for the cash prizes. The event will include a 10-Mile and 5K race with both featuring scenic USATF certified courses. New for 2026 will be a 2K Fun Walk.  There will also be a great postrace party which includes the awards presentation, an expo by our sponsors, music, dancing, free beer for all drinking age runners, great treats for the kids, and food trucks for the spectators and runners. In the 1980's the Park Forest Running and Pancake Club held their annual progressive marathon by adding up four separate "races" with the Park Forest Scenic 10 to have a Marathon time. In keeping with that tradition, we will be hosting a series of "races" at the Vollmer Trails, then adding those times to your finish time at the Flossmoor Hidden Gem Half Marathon. Come to the Flossmoor Entrance of the Vollmer Trail and run a 3.275 mile race four times.   Dates will be published soon. After the Hidden Gem, we will tabulate the results and award the top three finishers.  If there are enough participants, we will award age group awards.

Children ages 1-12 are invited to run on Friday evenings during the summer at NCHS (Normal Community High School). This family program by the Lake Run Club, is non-competitive and intended to help teach kids that exercising and running can be fun. Children will be grouped according to age with the younger ones (2 and under) running first (parents may run with young kids). Age groups with many children will run in several "heats" to avoid congestion and accidents. This is our 30th year of the Kids Run for Fun! Lake Run Club is hosting a National doughnut day run on Friday June 6th, with various start times and distances. Early Bird Doughnut 4 mile:  6:30 AM.  4 Mile run starting from Connie Link Amphitheatre to Grove Street Bakery.  Run to Grove Street for a doughnut and back for a cup of coffee after you finish your run.   Gotta get to work 2 mile: 6:45 AM 2 mile run from Keg Grove Parking to Grove Street Bakery and back. Grab a doughnut at Keg Grove and head back for a quick out and back run.  Stale Doughnut: 5:30 PM start from Keg Grove.  5K or 10K run, self timed on the trail.  Yes, we'll have a doughnut or two waiting for you when you finish.  Along with a beverage on tap at Keg Grove.

Four beers. One mile.  The Chicago Beer Mile will take place on Friday June 5th. Drink, Run, Drink, Repeat! This is a one-mile fun run for runners who enjoy beers. Drink a beer, run/walk/jog (or skip, crawl, whatever you want) your way a quarter mile around the track, and repeat three more times. There will be opportunities for those who do not wish to consume beer.  We will have a Chocolate Milk Mile followed by a Non Alcoholic Beer Mile. Volunteers are also needed. Races will begin at 6:00 pm.  A final schedule of events will be posted on June 5th.  Each race will have 4-14 entries. The event will conclude with two sections of elite Beer Milers. The event will be capped at 200 entries. There will be prize money for the top three men and women. $500 for 1st place, $250 for second place, and $100 for third place. Miles for Migraine will host its 9th annual 2-mile Walk, 5K Run and Relax Illinois Event hosted in Chicago at Diversey Harbor/Lincoln Park. This event is a fundraiser for Migraine & Headache Awareness, Treatment & Research. CASA is hosting its 5th annual Color Run event on June 6, 2026! Bring your family and friends to this fun, family-friendly event at Sycamore Middle School (no pets, please). Walk, jog or sprint - anything is fine so long as you have fun! There will be a post-race celebration with music, snacks and water. All proceeds from the event support CASA DeKalb County's advocacy of children from DeKalb County who have experienced abuse and neglect.  Registration fee is $30 for ages 13+ and includes a t-shirt and color packet and $20 for ages 5-12 and includes a t-shirt and color packet. Race the Countryside 10k!   In person Countryside 10k: Registration: online registration only and closes Saturday June 6th 7:15 a.m. Course: start/finish at Witt Park, Sidney. Once runners leave the park they will be on country roads. There will be volunteers at most intersections and arrows on pavement.
