Santa to the Sea is a nonprofit event born out of a desire to give back to the community. What started in 2003 as a toy drive to celebrate the relocation of the world’s largest Santa Claus from Carpinteria to Oxnard, has grown into a robust running event, toy drive, and community fundraiser. Santa to the Sea includes a half marathon, a Quarter Marathon plus a 5K run and 1K kids fun run. The Santa to the Sea Scholarship Fund partners with Gene Haas and Oxnard College Foundation to award $500 scholarships to local high school students and adults continuing their education at Oxnard College.  Santa to the Sea offers families not only a weekend of fun, but also an opportunity to give back to those in need, just in time for the holiday season. The nonprofit event helps collect toys for underprivileged children throughout Ventura County while raising scholarship money for students at Oxnard College. We are very excited to bring back the Kiwanis Holiday run. This year will be the 50th running of this event. We have partnered with Rotary Club of the Delta to make sure we bring a high-quality event. We have worked to provide a better course, and lots of medals. We also hope our school’s challenge will be bigger than ever. There will be a medal to the top five runners in every age category, as well as cash prizes and trophies to our top three High school, middle school, and elementary schools.  Many people have put a lot of work together to make this event happen, none more important than former race director Paul Schorr. LASAA’s mission is to provide athletic events for our members, comprised of Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department employees and law enforcement personnel, to promote health, fitness, and camaraderie.  The Mug Run series started in 1993. The primary participants were law enforcement personnel with an average of 10 runners.  Since then, the Mug Run series opened its participation to the general public. Today, participation has grown to over 300 runners.   The race provides outside friendly competition and positive interaction between law enforcement and the community.  Race day pricing increases to $40 so make sure to sign up early.   Day of Race check in and same day registration starts at 6:30am and closes 7:45am.  The race starts at 8am. Each runner will receive a T-shirt on race day.

The 5k/10k course will be in and around the streets of Dos Vientos (Newbury Park, CA). The 5k is relatively flat and a great family run or walk. The 10k, however is a little more difficult with several moderately challenging climbs. Both courses will be timed. AWARDS WiLL BE GIVEN to the top 3 male and female finishers in each race. We're excited to announce that the Santa Paws 5K is now the Santa Runs Palm Springs! The event you all love with a new twist! This unique 5K event invites every participant to be Santa Claus! Each registered participant will receive a full Santa suit to wear during the event, which you can then keep. Join us to run, walk, or stroll the 5K (3.1-mile) route. Strollers and dogs are welcome to participate! For children 10 and under, we offer a 200-meter Elf Dash. Entry for the children's event is $15 and includes a finisher medal. We will be hosting our 8th Annual Bakersfield Jingle Bell Run for Toys for Tots! The Jingle Bell Run will feature a Christmas designed Sweatshirts and Jingle Bells to all registered participants. The San Diego Holiday Half Marathon is a fast 13.1-mile course that starts on Penasquitos Drive in front of the Hotel Karlan (formerly, the Doubletree Golf Resort) then travels SW along Carmel Mountain Rd (your only ‘real’ hill at mile 1.5), along the 56 bike path and finishes at the beautiful Torrey Pines State Beach (pictured above!). The race includes a 711-foot net elevation drop along the “rolling” downhill bike path, which also makes it a personal best candidate. This popular winter half has been a sell-out event every year.
