5K Run & Walk: A 5K Run/Walk to Benefit the Veterans Drop-In Center in Rockford, IL. This is our 14th annual run and will, again, be held at Rock Valley College. This run is USATF certified (IL26022NM) and is a 2026 RRR Circuit Race. See more information about the RRR Circuit at www.rockfordroadrunners.org 5k Ruck Division: This is a 5k Ruck. This event starts at the same time as the 5k. It requires the participant to carry a rucksack (aka. backpack) for the entire 5k distance. If you weigh > 150 lbs = your Ruck should weigh 20 lb. If you weigh < 150 lbs = your Ruck should weigh 10 lb. There are no age group awards for the 5k Ruck - only 1st overall male & Female. Registration pricing: $35 per participant, $15 for children 17 and under Discount of $3 for RRR (does not include children 17 and under). Our 12th Annual 5K race is a fundraiser for the nonprofit youth program, Edwardsville Wrestling Club. EWC's Mission is to enrich the lives of our wrestlers and their families through the sport of wrestling. The 5K race starts at Edwardsville High School, follows MCT trails, and leads back to the Jon Davis Wrestling Center. Awards will be given to the Top 3 finishers in their respective categories (Male & Female 10&Under, 11-12, 13-15, 16-25, 26-35, 36-45, 46-55, and 55+). There will also be trophies and gift card prizes for the Top Male and Female finishers. The Kids Obstacle Course Fun Run will start immediately following awards. The obstacle course will be run around the Jon Davis Wrestling Center with 5 obstacles(including a bounce house!). Runners will be separated by age groups. Each participant will get a medal after completing the course. Our post race party will consist of games, hot chocolate, popcorn, and bounce house!

This event is open to all ages and abilities. The Logistics: The event takes place on the 3-mile MacNider cross country course, near Hoover Elementary School. Limited parking will be available at the school, located at 315 N. Springinsguth Rd., Schaumburg, IL 60194. Additional street parking is available on Amherst Drive or Colwyn Drive. There is no parking allowed at the church across the street. Packet Pickup: Packet pickup will be held at Xtra Mile Running, 31 W Schaumburg Rd, Schaumburg 60194 on with date and time TBA. Raceday packet pickup will also be available starting at 8:30am. The impact of that morning has been felt throughout our community, especially at Parkside Junior High School, where Edder had just completed his cross country season. On Sunday, November 8, we invite the community to gather at Parkside Junior High School for this 3 Mile Run and Walk. Extra proceeds from the event, along with any donations, will benefit the Children’s Hospital Burn Unit (FPO), helping support the care of children and families facing burn injuries. STRIDE Boys Character Education & Running Program Success, Teamwork, Respect, Inspiration, Determination = Excellence in character. Stride is similar to the well-known girls running program. Open to 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade boys, this afterschool activity meets twice per week for 10 weeks. Each session focuses on a different topic like bullying or sportsmanship using open discussion, games and running exercises to teach real-life lessons. Race and Course Information The Forge Trail Run Festival will embrace the adventure and challenge of late-fall, mid-west trail running with 10K, 20K, 30K, and 60K events.  The races will be run on single/double-track trails in The Forge and adjoining trails, within the woods and on some gravel around the historic Lemont Quarries and I&M Canal. The courses will start and finish within the Forge.  The courses wind through the single and double track trails within the woods and some gravel trails around the historic Lemont Quarries and I&M Canal throughout the Forge and adjoining trails. The 10K will be one lap, the 20K (Half Marathon) will be two laps and the 30K will be a three lap course.  Our newest offering - the 60K - will be six laps. The GCHS Booster Club Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk will take place at Grayslake Central High School.  The race starts and ends on the GCHS track.  All proceeds will help support the high school athletic program financial needs throughout the year.
