The RVA Sprint Triathlon is Richmond’s only pool sprint triathlon. Hosted by the Rockville Center, this race is set in beautiful Rockville, VA. Participants will enjoy a short pool swim, rolling rural bike, and fun out-and-back run course.  This event includes a classic sprint triathlon, kid’s splash & dash (swim-run), and new this year we will also have a shorter beginner-only race for first-time triathletes only.  Prefer to not swim or run?  No problem as we have both duathlon (run-bike-run) and aquabike (swim-bike) options.  The RVA Sprint Tri will feature a “seeded” race start with the top 12 seeded women starting approximately 7 minutes ahead of the top 12 seeded men to set up an exciting battle of the sexes to cross the finish line first! Let's celebrate the end of summer and the end of our Bunion Derby with the DC Road Runners annual Cross Country 5k and Club Picnic. This race features a fun, but challenging 3 mile race course through NAME OF PARK. After the race, we'll have our Club Picnic with food and drinks including in registration.  Not up for running? Don't worry, you can come to the picnic. Just register, so we know how much food to order.  In addition to the 5k race, we will have a kids dash as well.  Registration is free for members and $10 for nonmembers. Greetings, Four Miler friends!  The 43rd annual Charlottesville Women's Four Miler will be held at Foxfield on Saturday, August 30th, 2025. This much-loved community event began in 1983 and, since then, has grown to become the largest women's-only race in Virginia while raising over 4.2 million dollars for the UVA Breast Care Center. Join us for the 43rd running of the Powhatan Village Run on September 5, 2026! The Powhatan Village Run was established in 1981 by Phil Blankenship and Hal Hedley as a community road race for all ages and skill levels. Over the years the race has benefited many causes and donated thousands of dollars to charity. VA Momentum and JMU Valor have teamed up to bring back a meaningful 5K on campus at James Madison University to commemorate September 11th and honor student heroes. Harrisonburg community members and JMU students, faculty + staff are all invited to a unifying event open to all skill levels of walkers and runners. The 5K is chip-timed and utilizes a scenic route on east campus. The start/finish line is located directly behind the Festival Conference and Student Center. The senior class at Franklin County High School in Rocky Mount, VA proudly announces the 16th annual Eagle Strut Race to take place Saturday September 12, 2026 at 8:00 AM.  The Eagle Strut is a 5K race that takes runners around the beautiful and historic town of Rocky Mount. The 5K course is a perfect introduction to running for novice runners while still providing enough of a challenge to keep advanced runners interested. Proceeds for the race help fund the FCHS Class of 2027 in order to help offset senior activity costs and provide aid to our seniors who are most in need. No refunds will be given. The Patriots Triathlon is a great end of season race with Olympic and Sprint options all while being just minutes from historic Williamsburg, VA and the Jamestown Settlement. The swim takes place at beautiful Jamestown beach where you can watch Osprey catch their breakfast or see a pod of dolphins swim along the course. The bike course is flat, fast and parallels the Cap-Cap bike trail along Rt. 5. The run course is simply amazing as it winds through historic farmland and forest on a combination of bike paths and jogging trails. It is one of the most beautiful and iconic stretches of highway in the nation. The racecourse uses both lanes of a 5-mile section of the GWMP between the GW Parkway Circle and W. Boulevard Drive. The 9/11 Heroes Run 5K welcomes runners, ruckers, and walkers of all ages and fitness levels to honor the heroes of 9/11 and those who've served our nations since. We activate & unite communities and empower local veterans, active duty, first responders, and families of the fallen. TMF is proud to partner with GORUCK again with rucking divisions at every run. Rucking is a sport based on special forces training in which participants walk or run while carrying weighted rucksacks. The race consists of three stages along, and in, the New River. The trail is flat with a crushed cinder surface, and the river flows smoothly with small rapids under normal conditions. The race begins with a 40-mile out and back bike leg, followed by a 12.1-mile downriver kayak paddle, and ends with a half marathon run along the river for a total of 65.2 miles. Although the race is long, it's perfect for beginners and accomplished athletes due to its flattish nature. Participants may compete solo or in teams of two or three. We ask that you thoroughly read the rules and guidelines (PDF) before the race. What is a Tunnel To Towers Run & Walk? The Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk Series was created to honor the heroic life and death of Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001 after strapping on his gear and running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers. Honor all of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 and support our first responders and military who make extraordinary sacrifices in the line of duty! Since 1984, the Reston Triathlon has been a staple in our community. It opens with a 1500-meter open water swim in Lake Audubon, followed by a 25-mile bike ride and a 10K run on local paths. The Olympic distance event has challenged athletes from around the country and has affectionately been called the Reston Triathlon World Championship. During the pandemic, the previous board worked tirelessly to keep the tradition alive. Unfortunately, in 2021, they announced they could no longer financially or logically sustain the Reston Triathlon. CORE Foundation, working closely with the previous board, is thrilled to revive the event and continue the legacy. The Reston Triathlon made its comeback debut on September 10, 2023! This year's race date is September 28, 2025. CORE Foundation is grateful for the loyal athletes and local community. Staged at the Robious Landing Park in Chesterfield, VA, this event consists of three separate events: A non-draft sprint triathlon/duathlon, a youth triathlon/duathlon, and an NCAA Draft-Legal Collegiate Cup.  With the iconic river swim and beautiful bike and run course, you do not want to miss this exciting race. Matt joined the RunSignup team in September 2013 as an Account Manager located in Virginia, where he lives with his wife, kiddos, and cat. Matt graduated from Christopher Newport University with a degree in Management Information Systems, and holds an additional degree in Network Security from ECPI. A down-to-the-bone runner and a people person, Matt sees RunSignup as the perfect opportunity for him to use his experience in both technology and customer service. On a daily basis, he assists customers as they transition to the RunSignup platform, and helps Race Directors grow their events. While at CNU, Matt earned All American honors in Cross Country and held multiple school records in track. He was also inducted to his High School's Athletic Hall Of Fame.
