It's time to look forward to 2026! Family Friendly Mud Run. The run is a 5k on the Thomas College Campus with 12-14 obstacles and as much Mud as we can offer. 2026 Here we come! Awards Ceremony will be at 11:00 am to be eligible for awards you must be registered and run in an awards eligible heat.  They are 9:00, 9:10. 9:20, 9:30, 9:40, 9:50, and 10:00 am.Kids Race will be all new this year and will be for kids 10 and under.  Kids 8-10 can run either the full adult course or the kids course at parents discretion.This year our Lap racers will leave at 8:30 AM and complete as many laps of our course as they can. After 100 miles of multiple 900 – 1200 foot climbs and equally punishing descents, the second definition will seem appropriate. Join us in downtown Waterville, OH to race, run, or walk a 5K on the roads of historic downtown Waterville and out and back along River Rd. to kick off the 53rd Waterville Roche de Boeuf Festival the next day. All skill levels welcome! The Mary Cleary 5k is in honor of Mary Cleary and to support the American Cancer Foundation. Starting at the Fireman's Baseball Field / Dirt Road and through the library driveway. Left downtown and up Madison Street. Right on Terry Place. Down Tower Street, on to Main Street. Left on Buell Ave. Right on West Bacon Street ( where our water station will be) Cross Route 12 and continue on to East Bacon Street. Right on to Elmwood Ave. Right on White Street. Finish at the Waterville Public Library. In addition, this race is #29 in the Route 20 Road Challenge Series! Maine Endurance Sports Alliance (MESA) a 501(c)3 nonprofit is proud to continue the great running history established by The Great Waterville Marathon & Half with the introduction of the WATERVILLE MARATHON – Full/Half/10K/5K – Running Festival on Sunday August 9, 2026 starting at 7:00 am at Thomas College in Waterville Maine allowing more participants of all abilities to cross the finish line. This event is in the process of being USATF sanctioned, and Boston certified.  All courses start at Thomas College, travel along Rt 104 into the beautiful countryside of Waterville, Sydney and Oakland Maine and back to Thomas College.  (course maps can be found on our website).   We have already secured Pine Tree Racing Services to be the official timer for the race.  There is NO TIME LIMIT - we want you to reach your goal to complete the race. Join us on Sunday, October 11, for our 7th Annual Central Maine Striders Fall Classic! The Fall Classic is a 10K road race that starts and ends at Quarry Road Trails and travels through Waterville. No dogs or strollers will be allowed in the race. This race is for runners and walkers only. There is a tiered pricing structure. Central Maine Striders members receive a $10 discount. TrailFest: Grab your friends and family and head to Quarry Road Trails on Sunday, October 31st for the 5th annual Quarry Road TrailFest! TrailFest is a jampacked day of festivities and trail running races at Quarry Road Trails. This year’s TrailFest features a 5km community trail race and a 15km challenge trail race. The 15km challenge race has a technical single track portion. Costumes are highly encouraged for both races! Join us on Sunday, January 10, 2027, for a race event unlike any other in Maine. Get out of the cold and head indoors: no ice underfoot, no frigid gusts in your face, and no snow overhead! Who knew running in circles was so much fun? Music, camaraderie, and running! Walkers welcome. Why This Matters. Indoor Insanity 5K is a fundraiser to prevent lung cancer. Your race fees help pay for installation of radon mitigation systems in low-income Maine households. To minimize injury and "traffic jams", runners pick their preferred heat based on their average personal running speed. Heat # 1 - for the fastest runners (15-20 minutes 5k) Field will be limited to 30 runners. First come, first served sign ups Heat #2 - for the intermediate runners (20-27 minute 5k) Field will be limited to 75 runners. First come, first served sign ups Heat #3 - for runners of any level willing to take on the chaos of Indoor Insanity. Walkers: we have two dedicated lanes for walkers. Walkers start with Heat #1 Runners Kids Fun Run, too! The race is professionally chip-timed for accurate individual lap and finish times. Race fees are for race only.
