In conjunction with our annual Ojai XC Invitational, Nordhoff High School is once again adding the Community 3 Miler to the race program.  This is a true cross country course, traversing roads and dirt trails with some slightly challenging hills and beautiful views of Lake Casitas.  It has been the home of the Ojai Invitational Cross Country course for over 30 years as well as being the location of the Ventura County Cross Country Championships.  There is no better place to have a fun run or to put your distance speed to the test.   This race will be timed using chip timing.  Please pick up your bib at the cross country shed at the course on the morning of the race.  Proceeds from this race will go directly to the Nordhoff High School Cross Country team.  Your race registration includes a "Ojai Invitational" t-shirt! :)   Ojai Invitational Course Map  <--Click Link

Lake Casitas Short Course Championships is a high school level meet, home of the Ventura County Championship on the beautiful Lake Casitas Cross Country Course where many legends of the sport have run over the last 30 years. The middle school level race will return in 2026. This will be one middle school race with all genders and grades. Patagonia is excited to announce the 30th Annual Salmon Run, to be held November 15, 2026. This year, proceeds will support Santa Barbara Channelkeeper, a local environmental nonprofit dedicated to protecting and restoring the Santa Barbara Channel and its watersheds. For over 25 years, Channelkeeper has worked to ensure clean water, healthy habitats, and thriving communities from Point Conception to the Ventura River, from the Santa Ynez Mountains to the Northern Channel Islands. Through science-based advocacy, education, fieldwork, enforcement, and community engagement, Channelkeeper defends our community’s right to clean water and informs, inspires, and empowers people to speak and act for our waterways. This point to point race winds through the Ventura River Valley as it makes its way to the pristine beaches of the last great surf town in California, Ventura. Runners will love the gradual downhill nature of the race, which is prime to make you faster but not hurt the knees, and the amazing weather of the area. After a final tour of beach front Ventura, runners and their families are treated to a finish line party only steps away from the surf and the shops and restaurants of Historic Downtown Ventura. As a certified Boston Qualifier, the courses, the race and the surrounding communities make for the perfect destination marathon and half.
