This 5K is the seminal event conducted by the Illini Veterans, that works to both raise funds for the club to support veteran programs and services. This event also brings together our members with our community supporters.

Engineers Without Borders (EWB) at UIUC - 5K Stride for Sustainability

EWB’s 4th Annual 5K Stride for Sustainability invites community members to run in support of health and environmental awareness while raising funds for impactful projects in Malawi, Rwanda, and Woodford. Engineers Without Borders UIUC is a student-led nonprofit that builds a better world by empowering communities to meet their basic human needs while equipping students to solve the world's most pressing challenges. We realize this mission through projects such as bridges, water and wastewater systems, and electrical systems. Our chapter is currently working on projects in the United States, Rwanda, and Malawi. We work to ensure that our projects are sustainable in terms of environmental impact and that they are able to serve the needs of their communities for years to come. Join us as we run to raise money to build infrastructure for communities around the world!

Rock the Monument Four Miler

A Monument Square District Event.  All proceeds benefit our mission: to champion the vital downtown district. Packet pick-up and day of registration will begin at 6:30 a.m. day of race (rain or shine) at the Upper Shelter House above Adult Softball Diamonds. Course is stroller and dog friendly (on a leash).   A goody bag will be given to all participants at check-in, which will include water and nutrition snacks.    Awards: Overall Male and Female Winners plus top Three Male and Female finishers in each Age Group: 8-18, 19-35, 36-50, 51-65, 66+.  All finishers 7 and under will also get an award.   $30.00 pre-register by July 1, includes entry and t-shirt $35.00 after July 1 - No Shirt $40.00  Race Day - No Shirt Groups of six, team lead, call 937.215.7416 to be given a discount code ($25.00 per participant)

Simon Kenton Pathfinder's 26th Annual Bike Tour "The Carmen Scott Patriot Ride" (In Celebration of our nation's 250th Birthday)

Simon Kenton Pathfinder's 26th Annual Bike Tour "The Carmen Scott Patriot Ride" (In Celebration of our nation's 250th Birthday" Proceeds support maintenance of the Simon Kenton Trail Sunday September 13th, 2026 Check in & Registration 7:30am-11:00am The Depot Coffee House, 644 Miami St, Urbana, OH 43078 Your choice of three different routes; 15 miles on trail (perfect for beginners and families), medium distance (approximately 25-30 miles) on both trail and back roads and a longer route (approximately 60 + miles (almost entirely on challenging and hilly roads) in beautiful Champaign and surrounding Counties. In addition, there is a virtual option for those unable to join us on tour date. Also, for this year only, we are giving special pricing to retired or active duty military; all branches; including Guard and Reserve. Choose "Military discount" when signing up. Discount is on the honor system and is only for military; does not extend to family; (spouse or children) Our SKP Board, in the interest of promoting youth cycling and helping families, has committed to make all youth registrations, ages 0-17 free; if pre-registered and with an adult registration. Children must also be accompanied by an adult rider and wear a helmet to participate. This years routes are all in process of design. We hope to have them posted online ASAP. We use Ride with GPS. (While all effort is made to design a route which is close to the distance advertised, sometimes a road project causes us to revise a route. Thus, all distances are approximate!) We encourage safe and smart cycling! Wearing bright colors, lights on bike or trike, helmets and following all traffic laws will help us conduct a safe and enjoyable ride. Illinois Homecoming Run

Welcome to the Tenth Annual Illinois Homecoming Run! Join us on September 27th at 10:00 am, rain or shine, to run, jog, walk, or roll three miles from the east end of Anniversary Plaza to the Alice Campbell Alumni Center. After finishing, we invite you to celebrate at the Alice Campbell Alumni Center with food, drinks, the Marching Illini, and other special guests to kick off Homecoming week! Students, staff, faculty, alumni, community members, Illini fans, and families are all welcomed! We also have a Virtual Homecoming Run for those who can't make it to Champaign-Urbana for the in-person race! This will be open for the entire duration of Homecoming Week, September 27th through October 3rd. It should be noted that shirts are not available for the virtual event. Registration for the in-person race will be open from July 8th at 12pm CDT to 9:30 am on September 27th. To be guaranteed a race t-shirt for the in-person race, please register before 11:59 pm on September 2nd. For further information, please go to the "Event Info" tab. Strides Against Stigma- GCAP 5K Walk/Run

Kick off Pride Fest with purpose! Join us for our annual 5K Run/Walk, celebrating 41 years of community strength, health equity, and the fight to end HIV/AIDS in East Central Illinois. Whether you run, walk, roll, or stroll, your participation directly supports individuals and families living with or at risk for HIV/AIDS. Every registration helps provide housing, healthcare, food, transportation, and emergency support to individuals who rely on GCAP’s services. After you cross the finish line, stick around for our Resource Fair, featuring community organizations, wellness information, and activities! We’ll also have bagels, coffee, and morning refreshments provided by local business Good Judy’s Espresso & Bagel Bar. Going The Distance for the Salvation Army

This event is a charity community run with all proceeds going towards the Salvation Army. If you are unable to attend the run but would still like the help the cause, there is an option to just donate as well. While this event began in Morton, IL, we have brought a counterpart to the University of Illinois. This event is being run by Going The Distance in conjunction with the Salvation Army in Champaign to put on the best race possible! This year, the run will take place on October 17th at 9:00am. Please show up by 8:50am to check in at the check in table on the east side of the Main Quad by Foellinger Auditorium. Check-in will be open from 8:00am-8:50am. The start and finish lines are between the Foreign Languages Building and Foelinger Auditorium. You can view a course map below with mile and kilometer markers as well as a view of where to park. Restrooms are available inside of the Foreign Languages Building or anywhere else accessible on the quad. All participants who register before 10/16 are guaranteed to receive a Chick-Fil-A gift card upon check-in on race day. T-shirts are not guaranteed after 10/5. Paws for a Cause 5k

Join us for the Paws for a Cause 5K on October 18th! This community 5K is being organized through a collaboration between Hill’s, Purina, OTS, Nutrition Club, Run Club, and the University of Illinois veterinary community. The goal is to bring students, faculty, staff, and members of the Champaign-Urbana community together for a fun morning of running, walking, and giving back. Fifty percent of the proceeds from the event will be donated to a selected charity or good cause, with the remaining funds supporting the clubs involved in organizing the race. Whether you are an experienced runner, a casual walker, or simply looking for a fun way to get active and support the community, everyone is welcome. The event will include a 5K run/walk, age-group awards and medals, prizes for top finishers, and post-race snacks and refreshments. Come out for a fun morning of fitness, community, and giving back while supporting a great cause. Rattlesnake Master Run for the Prairie

The 27th annual Rattlesnake Master Run for the Prairie includes a 10K and 5K run and 5K walk that benefits Grand Prairie Friends, a non-profit land trust and conservation group in central Illinois.  This race circles the beautiful 130-acre Meadowbrook Park and prairie in Urbana, Illinois and includes some trail running. It offers a low entry fee, race medals, optional t-shirts, music, and friendly volunteers.  If you can't attend the race in person, support Grand Prairie Friends and participate in our virtual races.  Run the distance you want, where and when you want and report your time by Nov 2 on RunSignUp.  Virtual race times will be posted but not considered for medals.
