Join the seventh grade class of Beekmantown Middle School and North Country Honor Flight in recognizing our local veterans on Saturday, May 16, 2026! Be part of the Honor Flight’s first spring send-off ceremony and start the sendoff season with this year’s Honor Run 5K & 1 Mile US Oval Walk!  The Honor Flight will leave Plattsburgh immediately following the ceremony, and our runners/walkers will join the veterans for a portion of their parade route. Participants will run alongside the motorcade—an unforgettable experience! Come out and help us show our community’s appreciation for their service! The 4rd annual Lake City Running Festival will take place on May 23, 2026 at the Plattsburgh City Beach. The race will feature a half marathon with a 10k and 5k. The course will start and end at the Plattsburgh City Beach (behind the Crete Center). There will be no kids race this year Join us at the after-party for live music, food, beer/wine, cornhole, raffles, and more! 40th Annual Rotary International Fishing Classic on Lake Champlain EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT OFFERED TO FIRST 40 ADULTS, 40 YOUTH ANGLERS TO REGISTER PLATTSBURGH, NY __ The Rotary Club of Plattsburgh will hosts the 40th annual Rotary International Fishing Classic on beautiful Lake Champlain Friday - Sunday, June 5 - 7, 2026. This is the oldest fishing event on the lake, the earliest each year and features all cash individual and team prizes.  The annual Rotary Fishing Classic is a fundraising event for the Rotary club and attracts anglers from all over the Northeastern United States and Canada to the shores of Lake Champlain for three days of nonstop competition fishing for the largest fish among salmon, steelhead, brown trout, lake trout, and walleye! Cash prize amounts are determined by the pool of registration fees – 50 percent goes to the 1st through 5th place winners and the remaining funds raised support charitable community efforts of the Rotary Club of Plattsburgh. Join Operation Valor Horizon for our First Annual Walk / Run / Ruck! Pick your poison—walk, run, or ruck march with us and choose the distance that fits you best. Participants may select from a 1-mile loop, 3-mile route, or 5-mile route, and you’re welcome to walk, run, or ruck any distance of your choosing. We’re excited to host this event after seeing the incredible support from our local community during our 22-mile Veterans Day march, and we’re proud to continue creating opportunities for connection, movement, and purpose. The event will feature partner agencies and veteran support services on site, along with a food truck for participants and spectators to enjoy. Registration opens at 8:00 AM, with the event starting at 9:00 AM. Starts will be staggered by distance to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone. Join us for the Inaugural Dash for Dementia 5K Run/Walk, a community event hosted by UFirst FCU supporting individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s and related dementias through the Third Age Adult Day Center at SUNY Plattsburgh.
