The race starts on Section Street between 5th and 6th avenue. Lot parking available across from Fine Arts Center and top of hill, 4th & Chestnut, near school. School address is: 300 Section Street. Awards: Middle School gym. Awards for top male and female finishers. 10k, 5k and 2 mile run–top 3 place finishers in each age group receive medals. Treat from Dairy Queen for all 2-mile finishers. 2026 will be our eleventh annual Nomad Trail Race Series! This year as last, we will be offering 3-4 mile trail races at six of our Preserves in the Oxford Hills. All races will start at 6pm. The Norway Triathlon is a United States Triathlon (USAT)-sanctioned sprint triathlon that combines swimming, bicycle riding, and running. Competitors begin with a 750-meter swim on a triangular course from Norway’s Pennesseewassee Park beach area near Route 118. Upon returning to the beach, swimmers will run to the transition area and mount their bikes for a 12.4-mile (20 km) ride up Route 118, taking a right turn on Greenwood Road to a turnaround point beyond Richardson Hollow Road. Once back at the transition area the final leg begins; a 3.1-mile (5 km) run through the paved roads of the Ashton neighborhood. The run continues back to Pennesseewassee Park for the finish line. Individual competitors undertake all three legs. Relay teams may be formed with 2 or 3 competitors. Racers of all abilities are encouraged to compete. If the race must be canceled due to severe weather, unsafe conditions, or circumstances beyond the organizer's control, registration fees are non-refundable.

Leif's Run offers a 10K, 5K, and 2-mile fun run. The race is held as part of the Leif Erikson Festival in Norway, MI on October 10, 2026. Race day registration and check-in will take place in the lobby of the City Hall from 7:30-8:30 am. Parking is available on side streets. Awards handed out at 10:30 in the City Band Shell next to the City Hall. Course will close at 11:00 to open for festival traffic. The race (10k and 5k) will be chip-timed with race receipts provided by Tortoise and Hare Timing of Arbor Vitae, WI along with long-sleeve shirts featuring the Viking logo. The course will begin and end in Downtown Norway in front of the City Hall and City Band Shell. Finish with cheers from our Vikings along with spectators from the festival! Awards and prizes for top finishers overall (male and female for 10k, 5k, and 2-mile) and in each age group (10k and 5k) along with BEST costume (all races eligible)! After the race, stick around - there will be music in the City Band Shell! Food vendors, Viking reenactments, fine art show, blacksmith demonstration, children's activities, crowning of Miss Norway and a parade in the afternoon. The festival will wrap up with a walk for the Viking funeral pyre at Strawberry Lake Park. Race participants will all receive $5 in Viking Bucks as part of their registration to be used at participating Norway businesses.
