GLRR Boston Marathon Bus and Amenities

For 2026 all bus registration is online only - no mail in applications will be accepted. Please register here to take the bus. This is Greater Lowell Road Runners bus transportation to the Boston Marathon on Monday April 20, 2026.  You must be a member in good standing of the club, (if you are not a club member please email us at BostonBus@glrr.net and we can help you a membership -- please note: club membership is a requirement of the BAA, not us) and you must also be an official entrant of the 2025 BAA Boston Marathon. The bus will leave Cawley Stadium in Lowell at 6:45am (subject to change) on race day.  GLRR has a policy of waiting for all runners to be accounted for before we leave Boston to return home on race day. The bus typically leaves Boston by 7:00pm. You can decide to find alternate transportation home if you do not want to wait. The Angry Chicken Race Series

It's not summer without the Angry Chicken Race Series! Race distance is 2.62 miles – a tenth of a marathon! – with runners going counter-clockwise (against traffic) on the loop portion of the course.  The races  are run each Tuesday evening starting at 7PM (early start at 6:50), from June 9th to August 11th (eight races).  Scoring will give 1000 points to the race winner, and everyone else a percentage of that based on their finish time. All eight races will be scored, with prizes to the winners given out after Race 8 on August 11th. A minimum of three races must be run to win. Sign up for all 8 races before June 1st to receive a free race t-shirt!! Each race will have a theme. with a small prize for the best costume! YMCA River Run 5K

River Trail Adventure Triathlon

West Michigan's only "Dri" Triathlon!   This modified triathlon sports kayaking instead of swimming, a hybrid of paved and dirt trail biking, and a mix of trail and road running. Take on the challenge individually or compete with a relay team of two or three. The race is split into two distances -- Tri-Hard and Tri-Harder. All ages and experiences welcome! Join us for the 2026 Lowell Riverwalk 5K. Run or walk the Riverwalk with us! This is a family friendly route in downtown Lowell. Open to walkers, runners, students, adults & families. This is a stroller friendly course.   Returning this year:  Every participant will receive a medal & event will be chip timed. Age group awards!  1st, 2nd and 3rd place medals will be awarded in each age group for males and females. Berna's Great Legs 5K for Women

Come run in a local tradition!  Berna’s Great Legs 5k is a long established women-only race. Now in its 44rd year, it is the second oldest continuously running women’s only event in the country.  This race is for women of all ages and abilities; both runners and walkers can sign up to enjoy the fun 5K course through the Belvidere neighborhood of Lowell.  Bring your friends, mothers, daughters and sisters and come check out this amazing race.   This event is managed by the Greater Lowell Road Runners with all Timing and Race Management donated by Yankee Timing.  100% of net proceeds from this race are donated to the House of Hope in Lowell, MA.

Franciscan Rhythms Trail 5K Run & Walk

The 12th annual Franciscan Rhythms 5K Trail Run & Walk benefiting our music therapy program and land restoration efforts will take place Saturday, October. 3, 2026. The all-ages and all-fitness levels 5K will give participants an opportunity to “Run with Nuns” and experience a variety of restorative projects on a scenic path through our Lowell campus, 11650 Downes St. NE.  As race participants enjoy the course, they will be surrounded by deciduous woodland, pine forest and a restored prairie that contains all native plants. Visitors have spotted many beautiful birds, insects and woodland animals on the land – even an adventurous beaver!  A variety of live music stations featuring Irish, rock and folk music will be spread out along the trail route to motivate and inspire participants.  Learn more about the Franciscan Life Process Center at LifeProcessCenter.org.   Race schedule - Recommended arrival time is 8:30 a.m. for registration.  - A short fun run for children will start at 9
