Run (or walk!) for the love of Flathead Lake!  Join us for a scenic, professionally timed race that hugs the beautiful shoreline of Flathead Lake. Participants can choose from a 5K, a 10K, or a kid-friendly 1-mile run—making this an event the whole family can enjoy. At its core, this race is about more than miles and medals. Our goal is to bring the community together for a fun, family-forward experience while shining a light on the importance of protecting and preserving Flathead Lake. Once again, we’re proud to partner with two outstanding local nonprofits—the Flathead Lake Biological Station and the Flathead Lakers. A portion of all proceeds supports their ongoing work in research, education, stewardship, and advocacy for the long-term health of the lake. The 5K and 10K are open to all ages, with strollers welcome, and the kids’ 1-mile run is reserved for participants ages 12 and under. The High Mountain Half marathon is the perfect fall race to escape the high temps of the lower elevations and plan a cool, relaxing destination race vacation. It is also a great training race for a fall marathon. The half marathon course is a point to point race where runners will be bused from Blue Ridge High School starting at 4:40 am for a cool, crisp 6:00 am start time. Runners will be surrounded by beautiful cedar and pine trees as they travel down Porter Mountain and into the town of Pinetop/Lakeside finishing up at the Blue Ridge High School track. On Saturday morning there is also a 10K and 5K run.   Friday evening highlights are a Glow/Color  Run/Walk and Free Kids run. No beating around the bush, the Blacktail Balderdash is hard. You will get lost, confused, frustrated, and may want to send us hate mail before the halfway point.
