Gig Harbor’s Second Annual Fools Run 2026 is back for another unforgettable day of energy, excitement, and pure downtown fun. Whether you are a seasoned racer or an easygoing stroller, find some fun outfits and be a part of the madness! The Fools Run 5K is an evening run through the scenic streets of Gig Harbor, WA. Join us for the Guardian Angel Color Run on Saturday, May 16th!   Celebrating 11 years, our Guardian Angel Scholarship Program offers a unique opportunity to serve our St. Nicholas community and invest in our students’ futures by creating Saints and Scholars. The program provides tuition assistance to local families who wish to make Catholic education a priority in their lives.   The run is open to the public as well as St. Nicholas students, families and parents. Join us for a family friendly 5k run/walk along the Cushman Trail featuring color stations along the course and a color blast at our start line. Each participant will receive a t-shirt designed by a St. Nicholas student, a color packet and lots of fun!   Once you've finished the race stick around for music, cupcakes and light refreshments!

Artondale Elementary School is hosting the 43rd Annual Mike Stork Otter Fun Run- 3K.  In the spirit of fun and fitness, we welcome the Gig Harbor community to participate in this wonderful family event.  This year $1.00 of all race registration fees will be donated to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.  If you would like to make additional donations to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network please click the donation button on the website.  Preregistration $22 with a t-shirt or a $12 without t-shirt by selecting no shirt option at checkout. Shirts will only be available for preregistration through May 1st at 1159PM.  After that time, no shirts will be available for purchase. Packet pick up is May 26th 4pm to 6pm.

GALLOPING GERTIE!Join us for a half marathon, 10K and 5K that shows off Tacoma’s and Gig Harbor’s finest views. Each race will run on the iconic Tacoma Narrows Bridge (Galloping Gertie), which features stunning views of the Puget Sound, Mount Rainier, the Olympic Mountains, and the surrounding cities of Tacoma and Gig Harbor. This is one of the few races that traverse the bridge span to span. All participants in the race will receive a custom finisher medal, free downloadable race photos and a cool tech tee! The best part? It all supports great local charities!  WHAT IS GALLOPING GERTIE?Galloping Gertie is the nickname of the Tacoma Narrows Bridge, a local icon that spans the Puget Sound between Tacoma and Gig Harbor, Washington. Crossing it provides breathtaking views of the Puget Sound, Mount Rainier, and the Olympic Mountains. Date of the Event- Thursday, Thanksgiving Morning!! 8am!   Thursday, Day of event registration price doubles to $60. The event is timed by Tortoise & Hare Race Timing using RFID chips that are attached to your bib.  The event is using chip start technology, so don't worry about when you cross the start line as your time will begin when you cross.   Day Before Packet Pickup and T-Shirt/Socks purchase from 2-6 pm at the Gig Harbor United Methodist Church, 7400 Pioneer Way. Shirts will be $20 Day of Event Packet Pickup and T-Shirt/Socks purchase starting at 7am Judson St (Starting Line).   Shirts will be $20   Two cans (no glass jars) of food to be donated the day of the event only.
