Oothcaloga Lodge #154 is proud to be back hosting the 2nd Annual Running For The Kids 5K! The race will take place at the Yellow Park in Calhoun, GA and will start at 10 am sharp! Portions of the proceeds will be going to the Winners Club and the Masonic Childrens Home l. The  3rd annual Zachary M. Negrón Unforgettable Trail Race occurs Sunday, April 12, 2026.  This race is a family-friendly event with a competitive edge. Both the 5K  and 10K races are timed with a chip for those wanting some competition! This year, we are making it possible for the youngest runners to participate by including them in the day’s festivities with a Fun Run, which will allow those in second grade or younger to run a mile around the Georgia Cumberland Academy track. We run in honor of two causes. The Unforgettable Foundation of Tennessee assists at-risk and grieving families with finances to help them afford a timely and dignified funeral for their children. The Zachary M. Negrón Memorial Scholarship gives scholarships to a select number of students at Georgia-Cumberland Academy who mirror the traits of perseverance and hard work, characteristics Zachary embraced as a student at GCA to accomplish his goals.

Annual running of the “Connor Luke Hayes Memorial 5K” Hosted by the “CLStrong Foundation.”  Saturday morning – April 18th, 2026  – 8:00 AM – Calhoun City Recreation Department (Park) – Located at 10 McDaniel Station Rd, Calhoun, GA 30701.    Race proceeds go to benefit the CLStrong Foundation whose mission is to honor our beloved Connor Luke Hayes. The Foundation hopes to be an example of “loving big’” just like Connor Luke did! An event of this nature will continue to allow the Foundation to give back to a community who showed such amazing love and support to our family throughout Connor’s journey.  Our goal is simple....To raise money for the foundation, while also bringing awareness to childhood cancer, particularly High-Risk Neuroblastoma. Funds raised through the CLStrong Foundation will go toward scholarships for local students in Gordon County Schools and Calhoun City Schools, helping families dealing with childhood illnesses, and local commun

5k/10k walk and run through rolling hills with beautiful scenery! All ages welcome! YES to strollers! NO to dogs! Obstacle Course Adventure! (No adults for the color run!)    The proceeds this year will be used for additions to the Calhoun Civic Club’s Wellness Park and community events with the intention of offering continued hope to our community. We would greatly value your help to ensure Run to the Cross is a success for Calhoun and beyond!

The inaugural Yanmar America Charity 5K will take place on Saturday, June 20th, 2026, at 8:00 AM at the Calhoun City Recreation Department (10 McDaniel Station Rd, Calhoun, GA 30701).  Participants can walk, jog, or run across the finish line on a fast and flat course that winds around the iconic Black and Gold Park. This event is designed to be fun and accessible for all fitness levels, while raising funds for The Good Neighbor Homeless Shelter!  Whether you’re aiming for a personal best or a leisurely stroll, everyone is welcome to join in and support a great cause. As part of our 3rd Annual Spring Fling celebration, the Calhoun Civic Club will host the Not Ya Mama's 5K race on SATURDAY, APRIL 12th, 2025. The race will begin at 8:30am and will be followed at 9:30 with a kid's only fun run. Runners will complete a circuit beginning at the Calhoun Civic Club on Calhoun Loop Road, pass along Owens, McCain Farm Road, West Ouachita Baseball Road, and complete the race by entering the West Ouachita Wellness Park to take a victory lap on the wellness park track. The kid’s run is a short loop around the Wellness Park track. Register early and pick up your race packets Saturday, April 5th, 2025 at the  Not Ya Mama’s Spring Fling held at Calhoun Middle School on Highway 80 West in Calhoun.  This event is our yearly fundraiser for local scholarships and renovations to our wellness park. At the Spring Fling you will find live entertainment, craft and vendor booths, food trucks, kid’s activities, and cooks from throughout the south firing up their pots
