First Responder Face-Off: Race 5K & Gravel Grinder Join the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 84 and Local 1098 of the International Association of Fire Fighters on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Chautauqua Park for a fun-filled community event celebrating fitness, camaraderie, and a friendly rivalry between our local heroes! This year, participants will choose a side—support Team Police or Team Fire—and show your spirit in this exciting competition: Team Police proceeds benefit Project Lifesaver, a life-saving program helping locate individuals with Alzheimer’s, autism, and other cognitive conditions who may wander from safety.Team Fire proceeds to support Muscular Dystrophy.Whether you run, walk, or cycle, this event is perfect for all ages and fitness levels. Date--May 30,2026Location--Area 1 Rockford Lake 29988 S 108 Road Beatrice,NeDistances--Approximately 4-5 miles RUCKING IS ADDED THIS YEAR. IF YOU PLAN ON RUCKING SIGN UP FOR THE DISTANCE ON LINE AND CHECK IN 30 MINUTES PRIOR TO THE REGULARCHECK IN ON RACE DAY. THERE WILL BE A CUTOFF TIME IF YOU CHOOSE THE LONGER DISTANCE.  Fees--$30Fees include--shirts,awards,snacks,drinksRegistration closes May 15Check in--8:00am  East Shelter at Area 1Start--8:30amFormat--Course is on trails of Rockford lake. Mostly on trails with a mix of trees and open pasture trails. During the race you will be directed to spots in the park for certain challenges.
